Wouldn’t hurt to have in between sizes. I used it to spread copper fittings. Maybe I tried to spread too much. The first time it split the copper. Next time I heated the copper and it worked fine.

Works on 3/8" but not on 1/2" or 7/8"
It works as expected on 3/8". It takes many squeezes to get it to swage.On 1/2", I cycled it at least 150 times. I squeezed the handles completely. It would not get to the proper size for 1/2" On 7/8" the same was true. After over 100 cycles it still would not fit. I squeezed the handles completely.I will have to grind it so that the handles will close more and create a bigger swage.
