Snapping turtle boneless (total 5 Lbs.) count 1/5 lb. bags

Like that it was boneless , I have arthritis and it is really hard for me to clean a turtle , considering all I go thru to clean one its a bargain for the price.

ATLANTA— The Center for Biological Diversity notified the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service today of new research revealing that the alligator snapping turtle, known to grow to 200 pounds and live almost 100 years, is actually three species and therefore more endangered than previously thought. Because of threats like water pollution and overcollection for food and the pet trade, the study reaffirms, federal protection is urgently needed for the turtle, which is included in a 2012 Endangered Species Act petition filed by the Center.

We try different main meats at the holidays and after watching several youtubes of prepared turtle wanted to try it. The meat was well prepared, had no offensive odor, and was very clean and the weight was exactly 5 lbs. But even after boiling it for a while then deep frying, it was very chewy and had no remarkable flavor. For the un-fried portion of the 5 lbs we made some gumbo, and after more boiling it actually turned out pretty good. It was an interesting, expensive novelty I wouldn't buy again. But if we happen to find one in the wild, I'd consider preparing it myself, but use an insta-pot.

It was as advertised and delicious will buy again I only gave it a four star cause of price

A previous customer stated facts about the Alligator Snapping Turtle. In the product description, this is listed as Chelydra serpentina, which is the Common Snapping Turtle. Macrochelys temminckii is the name for the Alligator Snapping Turtle. I wish more people had access to Google and read the details of a product.

Very impressed with the packaging. Stayed frozen. Good quality of meat. Made a mean turtle soup!
