Worked seamlessly
After a failed experience with a cheaper product that claimed to do the same thing, this worked the first time. I used this to connect my second (1920x1080) monitor to my laptop via the Thunderbolt/USB port. The first time, the computer didn't even recognize that a second monitor had been connected. If you have the same problem as me, try this product.

Extend display from laptop
I use a laptop and often extend the display onto a monitor using the HDMI. But sometimes I need two monitors. This works perfectly to extend the display onto two monitors; one using this adaptor and the other using the HDMI. There is no difference in the high picture quality and there is zero set-up. Plug and play. Good product.

Works well, good fit
I haven’t had any issues with this adapter, it fits well with the projection systems I have used it with. Though I have also transitioned to not using powerpoint when I teach, instead using blackboards/whiteboards or going over things verbally and with hands-on exercises or worksheets. So I don’t really use the adapter much anymore.

Make sure your USB-C port supports video output before you buy!
Make sure your USB-C port supports video output before you buy!And I'm not talking about confusing your typical USB port with a USB-C port as many reviewers are doing it seems, since I know the difference there. Then again I didn't know the new Thunderbolt 3 uses the same connector as USB-C nowadays so that's how fast tech changes for you and how tricky it can be just to buy an adapter such as this. And this is why reviews like mine are really helpful before you buy tech items so you don't waste money on an incompatible device. This has already helped me be more cautious before buying USB-C based products in the future!Otherwise it will just sit there gathering dust like mine; the reason for this is that I assumed incorrectly apparently that all USB-C ports are the same and therefore all support video output. Apparently this is incorrect. Thus when I connect it to my 2-in-1 laptop with USB-C port to a VGA monitor nothing is displayed and therefore useless for me! The only place this is mentioned is the Startech website for this product in fine print at the end. "Note: Your USB-C equipped device must support video to work with this adapter. The adapter will not output digitally encrypted content."Anyways, if you own a MacBook or Chromebook pixel with USB-C port you should be safe since those definitely support video out through that port. If you still can't figure out if your device supports video output on the USB-C port there is a handy chart you can look at here that will tell you: [...]. To be honest I'd use a USB-C to HDMI converter in that case anyways since they are capable of much higher display resolution. Only reason to use this adapter is if you are stuck with old VGA monitor or projector. Otherwise I suggest looking for a USB-C to HDMI adapter instead which you can get for much cheaper; you also get higher resolution and High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) which lets you watch DVD's, etc.. if you use HDMI.

The product works as advertised however USB-C ports are too loose and require no movement in the cable otherwise the signal is lost. This is more of a problem with the port and not the product itself.

no interference
We had purchased a cheap adaptor from the local big box store and had a lot of interference. I decided to try this one and it is well worth the money. No interference at all. Crisp picture.

Just plug it in. Nothing more.
It was literally plug and play. Nothing to install with Windows 10. It simply worked.

Excellent Image Quality
Very clear image. Don't be taken in by cheaper alternatives. I purchased a less expensive adapter before buying this and clarity of the image is night and day.
