Best Little Portable Radio
I really enjoy this radio and have owned it for over one year. It's easy to carry around the house and lets me listen to the local station I like best. The outer material is firm, but soft so a nice feel when it's handled. I already had a portable Crane radio that doesn't sound any better and was a hard, heavy, clumsy mess to carry around. The blue and white color seems to blend in with everything in the house while being cheerful. One reviewer had described this radio as his little gem. I had laughed when I read that and thought maybe a stretch? Well my white and blue Sangean is now my little gem. Along with the radio I purchased Panasonic BQ-CC55KSBHA Advanced eneloop pro Rechargeable Battery 4 Hour Quick Charger with 4 LED Charge Indicator Lights, Black. The batteries work very well in this radio.

Pretty good for its size and price - but an overall compromise all around.
I am no radio expert but have had this a couple weeks so thought I would give it a review. I was torn between getting something really portable vs something that would seemingly perform great but weigh 5 lbs. This seemed to be a happy middle ground so thought I would try this.I purchased this based on reviews of the same radio in a mono version indicating it was almost perfect on FM, and really good on AM. I wanted to stereo version so I purchased this. Overall I would probably buy it again. Its pretty good for its price, but a long way from perfect. The goods:- Its approximately the size of a hard cover book and weighs about a pound, so its easy to take with you.- Its very intuitive and easy to use. Hold the search button down briefly and it will scan to next channel. Hold the channel button down until it beeps to save the station to memory.- It will save 20 total stations (10 AM and 10FM, on 4 different saved memory groups). The saved stations are accessed from buttons on the top of the radio- The speakers sound OK, but do distort pretty badly at higher volumes- The FM receiver is fairly good - but does fade in and out a little, and seems to drift a little as well- It does not come with an AC power supply - which is to be expected in this price and size - however I have been using it on batteries and its battery usage does not seem to be excessive - at least yet.. It uses 4AA- It has an Aux input for something like an MP3 player. The Not Great items- The worst part about this radio is the headphone out. Its very low volume and way has way too much bass. Its pretty much not usable on headphones or external speakers. I am not sure why Sangean would release a product with such an obvious defect. I didn't buy it really to use with external speakers or headphones anyway, but if you are - don't buy this one.- The AM is just OK. There are really only 3 AM stations in the area, all of which I can also pick up on a really old pocket Sony, and this radio doesn't do much better.Overall I am satisfied with this radio, but its a compromise. If you want something super portable this is not quite it but its close, If you want something with really good performance and sound this is not it either, but its not bad.

Excellent, but I prefer the single speaker model.
Excellent, but I prefer the single speaker model. This is stereo, but you'd have to be right next to it to notice. It has additional features over the single speaker model that are quite fancy but I won't use and they get in the way (signal narrowing, 2 AM group settings, 2 FM group settings, AUX). I just listen to a couple AM and FM stations so I don't want to cycle thru features I don't use going between AM and FM and I don't need 10 pre-sets each split between separate scroll functions. Also, the single speaker model outputs in stereo via the 3.5 jack, which I use to feed an amplifier on the deck. I give this a solid 5 stars, it's just more than I need (Still 5-star of course). Also, I have many Sangean radios and they're all terrific (I have a Lunchbox model under the eve of a shed that's been there year round for a decade and it still works fine).

Great reception and sound
This radio has supper reception. It picks up stations I never knew existed because all my other radios didn’t pick them up. They jumped out nice and clear when I ran the scan function through both AM and FM stations. Very easy to program the station buttons. The speakers provide quality sound and plenty of volume range. This is the second Sangean brand radio we’ve bought and are very pleased with. I wish they made an under-cabinet model.

Sound is very fuzzy.
I thought since it showed 2 speakers it would have good stereo sound. I am not sure if it is stereo, but the sound is very fuzzy. It is hard to understand radio announcers or the words to songs.Unfortunately for me, I kept trying to convince myself it was worth keeping. So I went beyond the return date. Oh well. The sound quality is so poor I am not even going to give it to anyone as a gift or try to sell it to anyone.

Great little radio.
I bought the white one and saved 4 bucks. It works like a dream. Very, very good reception on both AM and FM bands. Found some stations none of my previous radios could pick up. And the sound was just great. I was happy that I spent the extra money to buy this radio. It is what I wanted. It has 2 small speakers but they produce clear, sharp sound. And it has 20 memory presets. 10AM and 10 FM. Does not come with a cord, but you can buy one if you really want one. And it has a clock.

Nice compact radio. Audio quality is excellent and design as well.
Update Feb 1, 2016: Sound went out after about 30 days of daily use. Had to send it back to Amazon.Nice compact radio. Audio quality is excellent and design as well.Pros:- Nice design and compact size. See attached picture.- Sound is excellent for the size; much better than others in the same category. Ideally as a kitchen or shop radio.- The presents are on the top and with raised numbering.Cons:- Buttons and lettering may be too small for near-sighted people in their mid-40s, but you do become accustomed to the buttons.- I would've like for it to come with an AC adapter.
