Hiris By Hermes Eau De Toilette Spray 3.4 Oz For Women

I love this fragrance but have used other perfumes as the price has skyrocketed! The price was much lower than anywhere else I have seen. Was shipped very quickly and securely. Great purchase!

What can I say? I loved this when I sampled it at a local shop and of course, I found the best price on Amazon. The bottle is a beautiful deep almost indigo opaque glass and - well "It's Hermes". Synonymous with elegance and class. That said, when ever I put this fragrance on, I feel overwhelmed by the strong heavy carrot note that persist for the first 20 minutes. The sillage starts off quite high around 4-6 ft. for that first hour and then tapers down to a more reasonble 1-2 ft. level where I can leave the house with out knocking anyone out. The last time I sampled it with a friend, in the heat of the Summer, we both almost lost our lunch before scrubbing it off. Hot carrot juice is followed by a powdery orris and vanilla, iris middle with a soft rose, some honey and coriander and a bit of amber and cedar in the drydown. That is to say, it mellows with time and after about 4 hours is lovely and powdery honeyed iris. They say this wears better in Winter, oh how I pray this is true. Let's hope so, because this is one of those fragrances I can't give away to a friend or relative-it's too distinct and it was a big commitment. In the future I will go for Un Jardin Sur Nil from the House of Hermes, but 2012 will be the year of "The Carrot Monster", for me.

The perfume arrived as expected , the "fancy" cap being replaced by one less so. The perfume itself was fresh and therefore should last awhile
