Q: Does it come with ink?

Yes - the imaging Drum does come complete with toner. I print LOTS and LOTS of manuals, so I get about 10K copies per imaging drum. I haven't had to add toner separately. It is well worth the money when cost per copy is compared.

Q: when replacing the drum, do you loose the toner in it? I added toner not too long ago but need to replace the drum (vertical streaks).

Unfortunately yes. However the new drum come full of ink

Appears to genuinely last as long as they estimate

Topped up my printer about 5 months ago when it indicated it was half empty. We've easily done 5-6 reams or more from when I added it, til the printer asked for more toner - second bottle put in today - Waaaay better than my previous laser which needed more expensive toners, a lot more often.

A succession of bad quality cartridges that did not plunge/work properly. Ink goes everywhere.
