Very well written and informative book. Sadly I missed the gold boat decades ago when it was $32.00 an ounce. So now it's silver.o

The book is charming and informative. It's a very good read, and Tucker is a natural writer. But..-If you bought an oz of gold in 1930...you'd be dead now, so that example is pointless. Sure it was $20 back then, but what about $20 in shares of Coca-Cola grown over 95 years?-Gold has NOT kept up with actual inflation for decades. It's connection to inflation is a myth.-It's very dependent on timing: if you bought an oz of gold in 1980, it's nominal value is up 2.5x whereas any other asset is up far more. If you bought an oz in 2011, you'd be barely breaking even while inflation has rocketed, so you lost.The only good time to buy gold is at the bottom of one of its 20 year-long bear markets. Same goes for gold mining stocks, which are just peaks and valleys without any wealth creation.-Gold has a limit of about $2k. You'd be nuts to buy anywhere near that.-Silver is worse: the same price it was 43 years ago.-Both metals are replaceable by other metals that are nearly as good and a fraction of the cost.-Gold is good if you're fleeing a country, or living at the end of a civilization.

I recently overheard a few friends discussing this book and I rudely inserted myself into the conversation. Good move on my part!While much of the world was curled up in the fetal position during lockdowns, Mr. Tucker put his time to use and produced this gem. I felt that this book was written just for people like me. I’ve been curious about investing in precious metals for some time and this book was an excellent introduction. It offers a very concise history of gold, explains how governments have set up economies for disaster and presents the when, why and how of positioning oneself in different forms of gold ownership.I thoroughly enjoyed the author’s writing style. I can only describe it as a uniquely spiritual expression of wisdom obtained through his passion, in-depth study and real world experience.I fully expected a dry presentation of the study of gold but this book is punctuated by perfectly timed and proportioned humor that kept the experience fun. It has served as motivation for me to study gold further and get positioned with this fascinating form of wealth. I highly recommend it!

E.B. Tucker packed an enormous amount of financial knowledge, experience, and value into the 227 pages of this book. His timing for writing and publishing this book could not have been more timely. I appreciate his efforts to expedite the publishing of the book in such a short time frame following the pandemic which is expediting the devaluation of our hard-earned dollars at warp speed. I found the history of Government devaluation by increasing debt loads that Tucker outlined over hundreds of years to be so informative and insightful. This documented pattern that ultimately creates catastrophic financial meltdowns is occurring as I write this review and more stimulus debt is being debated by our elected officials. I was already invested in gold & silver producers and royalty companies when I purchased this book. After reading the book in short order, it confirmed my investment roadmap of maintaining long positions in gold and silver for at least the next several years. I also recommend taking a hard look at the Metalla Royalty & Streaming company (MTA) he describes in this book. It’s worth consideration.

If you are not familiar with E.B. Tucker he has many interviews you can find on YouTube. Buying this book will give you a different perspective on him. He writes well. The thing I like about him compared with others in this space is he doesn't really have an upsell (or at least has not until recently) like Jim Rickards (new book @ year or so + newsletter), Peter Schiff (his funds + newsletter), Mike Maloney (goldsilver.com). Good coverage of portfolio coverage & why he likes streaming companies.

This is a great resource/primer on why you should own gold and why you should own it now.Get it. Read it. Take action. Then, when all your friends & media are talking gold, silver & precious metals you will be in a position to take some profits, but more importantly, have the peace of mind of owning a store of value like gold provides & will be protecting your wealth and that of your family.

Great book! I devoured it in almost one sitting. E.B.’s writing is easy to read and he breaks down concepts with examples (Which I love without a finance background). I’ve been a “goldbug” for 10 years and I heard about his book watching an interview with Kitco News w/o Daniella.... Even though the beginning feels a bit like he’s trying to sell his royalty biz, the content shows there is a much bigger picture. LIKE PAY ATTENTION. I highly recommend for anyone interested in jumping into the Gold market. Plus, E.B.’s a hottie... I kinda have a crush! I mean, a girl can only follow old men for so long... no offense Ray/Frank! But I digress... This book’s knowledge should be followed and passed out to family and friends. Trillions of deficit + central banks/elite buying gold = common sense. Happy investing!
