Where are the pecans…I found them
I was premature when I wrote the initial review. I guess in any process where nuts are added to a rapidly solidifying caramel then the result dolloped out will be a few flat ones and a few fat ones. Most will be just right. The big majority of Aunt Sally’s pralines do not disappoint. They are rich and creamy just like they always have been when I visited their store in the French Quarter. Apologies. Lesson learned: Sleep on criticism. I want more Aunt Sally’s pralines but I was too embarrassed to order more until I wrote this correction. So disappointed. These used to be a rich pile of pecans held together by wonderful caramel. The first one I opened looked like a flat caramel thing. Not at all like the picture they use in their sales pitch. If there were any pecans in that caramel thing they must have been ground up. I could not find them. I tried another. While some better there is less than a third of the pecans than the Aunt Sally’s pralines I fell in love with. Too expensive for trickery. Use caramel cubes and melt them to make a patty shaped caramel thing. Same taste. Much less $$.

Beyond Disappointing
There is nothing better than a good praline and nothing worse than a bad one. Unfortunately, these fall into the latter category. These are really bad. Although pecans are listed as the second ingredient, it's nearly impossible to actually find pecans in these. If pecans are actually there then they are ground so finely as to be indistinguishable. There is definitely no pecan crunch or pecan flavor. In fact, there is little flavor at all. If you want the flavor profile of these pralines, simply eat a tablespoon of brown sugar. Sugar is the only thing you taste in these pralines. Pralines are supposed to be sweet, but these are cloyingly and disgustingly so. After eating one of these, you immediately want to brush your teeth. I tried one and gave them the benefit of the doubt thinking I may have just had a bad one. Tried another. Took one bite and put it in the trash. I'm sure that's where the rest of them will go too. Extremely disappointing.

Not the gritty sugar, melt-in-your-mouth texture of Deep South pralines.
Not a traditional pralines IMO - though maybe the “creamy” description means it’s meant to be different than what I’ve bought in SC, NC and LA. The texture is more like warm caramels than more traditional pralines. The taste has hints of chocolate and tastes a tiny bit burnt. Not my personal preference but others may love it. It is nice that they are individually wrapped. And the price is fair.

A Taste of New Orleans
These pralines are so delicious and each package was extremely fresh. They are a little pricey, but I suggest, YOU TREAT YOURSELF TO THESE DELICIOUS PRALINE.

Disappointment
Did not taste like the ones I got in New Orleans were the same box and wrappers, but tasted pretty bad. It could be just me but they were great and New Orleans not the same when I purchased them.
