Works well and great price.
Works well and great price.Other cheaper thermometers dont give a reading above a certain temp, they just say HI. This goes very high, I got 2000 F readings. +

Extremely Accurate
I bought this first for a raku kiln then later purchased a ktype pyrometer. I found that THIS infrared thermometer was within a couple of degrees as the $200 pyrometer. If I knew how accurate it was compared to some I used in the past, I would have saved myself some money honestly. I know one reads atmosphere while this reads heat emitted, but it is SO accurate and easy to use. Highly recommended 👌

Better than my buddies Snap-on laser temp reader
My best friend is mechanic and only buys Snap-on tools. Snap on everything. Unfortunately for him, when I bought this it was much cheaper. About a quarter of the price really, and more accurate. Oh, did I mention the temperature goes higher on this laser temp gun than the Snap-on one? I use it to see how hot my furnace is getting when I'm melting metal. The double laser dot system is fantastic! Use your friendly, and accurate as far as I can tell

easy to use
Works well. The only thing I can find against it is if you check something very hot it takes a little time to read lower temperatures accurately. But it will read right.

WORKS WELL!
Works exactly as described; using with a small foundry and molten metals.

Lots of functions and wide temp range, instructions are junk
This thermometer has the wider, more specifically, the higher temperature capabilities I need for heat treating steel. It also has high and low alarms, it will record and remember 12 readings, show the high, low, difference, and average. It includes a flashlight, but it's too dim to be useful to me. Everything seems to work well, and I got several features that I didn't expect so that's all good. It's accurate, at least at room temperature; I measured the wall next to my Nest thermostat, both read 73.The main problem for me and the reason I had to drop a star was the instructions. I've bought more than a few things from China, and typically I can decipher the instructions, but these were very poorly written symply didn't mention a lot of things. I had to do a lot of playing around before I could even switch from c to f. I still haven't figured out how to activate the back light on the display. I guess the good news was that I "discovered" many of the other features.I can't speak to long term durability/hard use, but the product seems to do what was promised, maybe even more, but it's going to be up to you to figure out how to access everything.

gotta hold it far away from the subject
good device, but really difficult to use when you are close to the subject you want to measure because the beam must focus pretty far away to get accurate readings. for example, if you are welding or heating up some metal and you want to take a measurement, you have to get up and stand back to get enough distance to take a measurement, so it's pretty inconvenient for that sort of thing.
