Good for health information
My vet suggested getting a doggie DNA test to test for potential genetic issues. He said that he could run tests but it would likely cost more than going this route. I did find out that my dog is a purebred - she is from the pound. I wouldn't have purchased the test just for that. I obviously didn't care since she was a rescue and I have no intention of her having pups or showing her. She pretty much just lays on my furniture and barks at squirrels. It was easy to use and I had the results in about 3 weeks or so. It was kind of interesting to see that she has relatives all over the world. I do wish it had a better family tree to see if she is inbred - I have the feeling that she might be some kind of a mistake litter since the entire litter was left at a pound.

Fast Process
Test arrived rapidly from Amazon shipping. Swabbing was fairly simple and sending out was easy. Took about a week to arrive to the testing facility and approximately two weeks for test results to be completed. I’m pleased with the results I got and they seem fairly accurate

Good product and good results.
We used wisdom panel before I loved the results that we got from them. My wife said it is the better of other test kits. Might take a while to get the results since this seems to be one of the better ones on the market and alot of people using it.

Accurate & quick results
I’ll start this review by saying I don’t ever write product reviews. This test was SO simple to do on my high energy pup & I got the results back fairly quick. The box to ship comes with a USPS code so you can track its journey. The site says it takes 10 days for them to receive it (true) and 2-3 weeks to process the DNA and post results (mostly true) I actually got the results in 12 days rather than the full 2 weeks! If you’re wondering on my results/why I got it, I’ll share below with a photo that breaks it down!I got my dog from an “accidental” litter where a family member had a female lab & rescued a male “husky/pitbull mix”. I’ve been curious which side is more dominant for my pup and the results seem quite accurate! He’s 1 of 12 siblings and they all look extremely different. He looks the most like his dad in comparison to the rest of the litter so I thought he would carry more of his husky genes and he actually is most similar to the mom. He actually has less than 5% of pitbull in him. He’s almost 60% of lab/golden retriever, almost 20% husky and the rest is quite the mix :)

Perhaps an accurate indicator
We wanted to identify the breeds in our rescue dog because of the unusual coloring and features. It came back that she was an Australian Cattle dog (32%) with Border Collie (21%) and other breeds thrown in. There's some similarities to these breeds but in the end you sort of have to trust that your dog has all of these breeds in the percentage indicated.Probably a more reliable test when only one or two breeds found. It does take awhile for the results.

Very accurate ----
I adopted a puppy from the Humane Center and they only said she was a poodle mix. So I wanted to know what the "mix" was. It only took a week or so to get the results and it was so interesting. I had not given them a photo or any information about my dog. They got the breed and the color and even the curly hair all correct. She is 75% poodle and mixed with Cocker Spaniel. I also really liked that they give you health results and any problems that this breed might have. That's always good to know so you can be aware.

Wisdom Panel DNA testing is really WORTH it!
Yes! Do this for your dog! I have a puppy that someone dumped in my yard. He looks very much like a Black Labrador Retriever but I could tell he is not pure. His ears don’t completely flop and he’s got a spot of white on his tail and white stripe on his chest. His tongue is pink but the rest of the inside of his mouth is black/grey! What could he be mixed with? I received the test and attempted to get the sample as directed, but he kept chewing the swabs. lol. I tried my best and submitted, wondering if it would be good enough. Appx 2 weeks after Wisdom Panel received the samples, I got results. 20% CHOW CHOW!! What?! But that explains the black mouth! 19% Lab and 18% Golden Retriever, and about 18% Pitbull, along with tiny percentages of other surprise breeds. Dalmatian, Australian Cattle dog and 1% Chihuahua, OMG. Amazing! Seeing the “relatives” was very cool and example of his family tree and some of his genetic traits was fascinating. They explained him to a T; from color, size, behavior and even the one hind dewclaw…all without a photo! I ended up paying the extra $49 to get more info but honestly, that was a waste of money because the initial report said he’s not genetically predisposed to any health concerns and all the more extensive report did was list ALL of the genetic health concerns that he doesn’t have in his DNA. I highly recommend the basic Wisdom Panel test and if your dog does have copies of genes for health issues and you want to know more, then pay for the extra info. Overall, it was a great experience with little room for error.
