BEST AVAILABLE TEXT FOR BOTH MBA AND UG OPERATIONS MANAGMENT COURSES
This is an excellent text for both MBA and UG Operations Management 'Core' courses. It is well written and can be easily read - and understood - by Students; without requiring much (or any) class time for explanation. Their '4V' Model offers a deceptively simple but powerful model for assessing OM situations and 'Asking the right questions'. ( It is always fun in class to ask Students to also compare the '4V' model with the '4P' model from Marketing!) It grows more powerful as the cases become more complex and move to issues requiring 'trade=Offs' and choices related to the strategy and marketing tactics of the business. It covers all the basic areas of OM, but is priced reasonably so that Students will not feel 'Cheated' if some areas are not covered in the term. Also, the availability of earlier and/or used editions/copies makes the book very affordable. I have used this text since its 4th Edition and have never fond a reason to change.
