These books are beautifully made with a stitch bound fabric spine. The cover is left as blank book board, so you can either draw your own cover or use your own book cloth or paper to create your own cover design. The interior paper is natural eggshell color and has a vellum surface- just enough texture for pencil and pastel. Paper is 100 gms (approximately 60 lb weight). The stitch binding allows you to open the book, flip pages, and lay the book flat without the binding cracking. LOVELY
I've had these books for years and have used them just to write in, now I'm using one as a pen & paper doodling/drawing book. I have not yet bought them from Amazon, I think I previously purchased them at an art store.These are like stitched binding and aside from the bland cover, are very very lovely books. I'm glad I found them once again. Hoping they are the same as the ones I already have from some years ago. They are very very special.My one complaint here is the cost. I have no idea why these rate the high charge as when I bought them before, they were quite affordable. Paying the charge here for say, 3 or 4 books, yes. This charge for one? No.
