I no longer need my sand filter
This is a great pool cleaner. I add FilterBalls Green Minis to the debris compartments (about half full) and I do not need to run my sand filter. I run the SharkVac twice a day (7 PM and 5 AM on a timer, leaving the robot in the pool overnight). (I use a Remington SolaSkimmer to skim the surface.) This setup is not for everyone but I love it, mainly because it's quiet. It takes about 5-10 minutes per day to rinse the FilterBalls and SharkVac compartments with a hose. I don't take the filter cartridges out, I just take the compartment out and dump the FilterBalls onto the patio and rinse those and rinse the compartment off. If you want to try this, you have to get the FilterBalls Green Minis from Doheney's because I don't see them here. You could easily set this up to work off solar panels and you wouldn't even need an AC power source. Might not work in a large pool, mine is under 20,000 gallons. The SharkVac is nice because it has a good pump (3.5A power supply) that moves a lot of water and the handle doesn't block the discharge port. I was also able to use the SmartPool robot in the same way but those are not available at the moment (that cleaner will completely clean a green swamp without a filtration system). When you push the black button on the front of the SharkVac to open the debris compartment, push the center of the black button not the rim. I wish there was a solar skimmer about half the size of the Remington with a small biological sheet filter. I use BBB method, adding about a half bottle of liquid shock every evening around the perimeter of the pool.

Works like a charm!
Just bought this vacuum to replace the identical model that we had for 13 years. It can’t be any easier to get started and continue to use. It was a life changer from the onset… progressed from the manual vacuum task with the hose that was such a pain. Well worth the price!!!

Works as advertised.
We have never used a pool cleaner like one. My biggest concern was the tether (the power line) attached to it.However, putting it in the pool for the first time, I was impressed at how it moved around in the pool. I did not witness when it stopped, so I am guessing it stopped after about 2 hours of cleaning. The clean-up of the filters was relatively easy, even though it took me a few minutes to unhook them from the main housing.

Terrible!! Should have stayed with Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus
Update: After about 9 months of use the robot is completely useless. It spends more time upside down than it does cleaning. If I want it to do its job I have to stand beside it for 2 hours and flip it over every 2 min. This is not an exaggeration, it is really that bad. I tried making several adjustments without any change. Spoke to customer service to see if they had any advice and they would only tell me to take it to a dealer for repairs. The cord is awful. It is thick and constantly tangled. AVOID this robot. Go with the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus.I bought this about 2 weeks ago to replace the Dolphin Nautilus CC. The Dolphin did an EXCELLENT job cleaning and was VERY easy to clean but I had it for several years and it needed a couple of repairs that were not available to end user and required a dealer (all done under warranty) so I decided to try a new device. I have been VERY disappointed with the SharkVac. It only removes about 1/3 of the debris of the Dolphin. The cord is constantly twisted preventing it traveling to all parts of the pool. I have to unplug it and stretch it across my yard to untwist it almost every day. When I pull it out of the pool a ton of dirty water falls out of the bottom defeating the purpose of it cleaning in the first place. The filter cleaning process of the SharkVac is a real chore. It honestly takes me about 15-20 min. Debris (leaves, grass, sand, etc) gets packed into the crevices of the filter and filter holder making it a very difficult process to remove filters to clean. I have to spray it out with a hose before I can take it apart. I am guaranteed to get soaked knees down every time. It would be less frustrating if the SharkVac actually did a good job cleaning. I am overall very disappointed in this purchase and wish I would have replaced by Dolphin with another of the same.

Shark Vac
This Hayward Vac is the same pool cleaner that we received when we had the pool built. It lasted a good 4 years, so why not replace it with the same thing? Suction power is good, it will climb the walls and does a great job picking up debris and even small particles. Our biggest problem has been that it hangs up on the drains. The drains are not flat, so the cleaner gets stuck on them. We usually retract the cord enough that it can’t get all the way to the drains, until we are outside to monitor it. So with this being our second one,mid day we’re pleased. Amazon prices beat retailers by several hundred dollars in some cases.

Drive belt broke in less than a year
Second Hayward Shark I have own. First one lasted 7 years. This one, the drive belt broke in less than a year. It is an easy fix, but would think it would of last longer. Other than that, it cleans well. Picks up leaves, dead frogs and dirt.

Wow! Super!!!
Hayward W3RC9740CUB SharkVac Robotic Pool Vacuum is absolutely AMAZING! I have waited FOREVER for a company to combine a large basket for leaves/ larger debris AND a paper filter for dirt and smaller debris. Due to Covid hampering the production of pool products our pool was down for 3 weeks while we watied for a sand filter replacement. In that time period temps were 100 and it rained twice. The result was a green 18x30 filthy pool. It would have taken me several days/hours to vacuum to waste (wasted water) by hand to remove all that. Dropped in the Hayward Vac and you cant believe what it got out on the first two hours! I ended up running it for a total of 8 hours over a couple of days and it was sparkling clean and we were swimming again on day 3. I so wish I had taken a before and after pic. Thank you Hayward for finally solving the headache of every pool owner, dirt and algae!!!Some of the reviews I read before purchasing complained of it being heavy and the lid being difficult to open.I did not find either one of these issues to be a problem worth not having this bad boy. Another huge plus was the great price. Hayward knocked it out of the park all the way around! Finally get to enjoy my pool instead cleaning every time I got in.
