I have the Meike tubes in Âµ4/3 mount and the Neewers in Sony E mount. The Meikes work fine in the limited use I've given them. Their mounts are black plastic, with a relatively soft surface, so I would expect the mounts to wear fairly easily and wouldn't use them for big, heavy lenses.The Neewers have shiny plated metal mounts that have a much harder surface. Only the mounts are metal, the body is plastic. I thought at first they are so light that it must be chrome plated plastic, but I took one mount off and scraped the underside. It's definitely metal, although certainly not steel or brass. Anyway, with the hard plated surface, they should wear better.I would buy the Neewers again.Be aware that all of these tubes have many contacts. With Sony, the 10 electrical contacts of lens to body becomes 20 with a tube and thirty with two tubes stacked. And the contacts in these inexpensive tubes are plain brass, not as good quality as the bodies and name brand lenses. So don't be surprised if you find AF or other malfunctions, esp. when it is humid. Take 'em apart and wipe all the contacts.

Q: All the reviews are talking about flash. Are you sure this is the Macro Extension product?

Something is definitely wrong in the listing. I was emailed your question but I've never bought this product. I have bought Neewer flash adapters, which would match the reviews. Good luck, sorry I could be of more help, but you are right, listing is mixed up somehow.

No. I just picked this up for my a5100 and could not get any of my 3 lenses to work with the adapter. None of my lenses would focus (2x Sony and 1x Sigma)

Flimsy but works.

It's metal, but the tolerances aren't tight. It'll grind the lenses and doesn't feel secure. Good enough for what I need but wouldn't recommend using it outdoors with heavy lenses especially in bad weather.

Cheapest upgrade for macro

The result was awesome... Excellent fiting... auto focus works well... durable metel body... Best option for entering in to the macro photography.
