Celestion delivers again!
Celestion Greatness !I built a guitar speaker cabinet from an old apple crate just for fun (too much free time) and needed an inexpensive 10 inch speaker to give her a test run. I've always had Celestions in my amps and cabinets and knew I couldn't go wrong with the Ten 30. I was going to replace the speaker with a Celestion Greenback or Gold 10 if I liked the result/sound etc. I plugged the cabinet into a small class A 4 watt tube amp and was instantly impressed by the sweet, warm and detailed gritty tone of the Ten 30. At under $40, you cannot find a more well rounded speaker for a guitar cabinet or small amp combo. The Greenbacks and Golds are in the hundreds of dollars range. I am a huge fan of the sound of the Ten 30. Tight punch to the low end, creamy British mid range and smooth, searing, articulate highs. I will keep the Ten 30 and spend the money I saved to build more cabinets. Celestion speakers have always been my first choice. The Ten 30 is an affordable one that really delivers..

The Celestion Ten was the perfect replacement. It is louder and has a smooth ...
Remarkable improvement in the sound of my 5 year-old 30 watt Vox Valvetronic amp. The original speaker always sounded a bit harsh; Vox was clearly trying to make sure the AC15 and AC30 models had a speaker that emphasized the highs. But I wanted a bit more from the Marshall and Mesa models. The Celestion Ten was the perfect replacement. It is louder and has a smooth midrange, not too bassy and does a nice job with the Vox models when I put the treble on 10 and roll the bass off. Most of all, it really makes the Boutique (Dumble-like) models stand out and I can get a very nice jazz sound with my Gibson ES347 and my '79 Ibanez ES175 copy. To get a true country twang, I use a little treble boost with my Tele and the Twin model; true Nashville! For anyone with one of the many nice, small modeling amps; upgrading your speaker may be the very best move you could make to improve the sound of your little friend. The Celestion Ten 30 was perfect for me.

Outstanding for the price
I installed 4 in a (blackfaced) silverface Super Reverb I restored for my son, and I was pleasantly surprised. I had heard these were warmer and rounder sounding in vintage Fenders compared to most other Celestions (which generally have a pronounced midrange "bark") - and while not the equal of old Jensen or CTS speakers they are (IMO) far better than any reissue Jensens and excellent for the price.Like any new speaker they are harsh out of the box and need some time to break in - I ran a CD player and stereo through them in a jerry-rigged isolation cabinet for around 20 hours at medium volume - that's the point where they finally "bloomed".An excellent buy.

Celestion rules!
Both my practice amps have Celestion speakers and now even my Marshall cab. Instantly could tell the amazing differnce. One of my amps is a hybrid amp(vox vt20x) modeling amp and the other is full tube amp (stage right 15 watt) and then I got this speaker for the Marshall cab. Man i can’t belive the price on these speakers theyre fantastic

Decent for my application
Arrived on time without damage. Sounds better than I can play so they have that going for them. Driving a pair of 10's with an 's Orange micro dark tube amp. Gets plenty loud and no undesirable distortion or rattle. Not as bright as the Jensen green backs I replaced, but I was hoping they would be. Happy with the purchase and no complaints thus far.
