Great value for Small Tomahawk style axe head
Great price for a durable cordura/nylon ax head sheath. Fit my daughter's mouse-hawk perfectly. Would not fit a larger tomahawk, so use for the recommended ax or for a youth tomahawk only. I expect their Rifleman version would fit a larger tomahawk.

What's all the fuss???
28 ignorant reviews kept me from buying this sheath for 6 months. I'm not trying to be rude, just calling it as it is. They all made it sound like the sheath was not even a match to the trail hawk, like it was a "from mail box to trash" $5 item. Of coarse the sheath is going to be tight at first, in fact, the first time is pain in the but to get it on. You want the sheath to fit tight at first so it can break in, especially a mask like this. I mostly stay away from products that have majority 1 star reviews because it is usually an accurate indication of the products worth. This time however, it is ignorance that is giving a perfectly serviceable sheath a horrible rep. (but it is just a basic cordura sheath)That being said, it is BS that Cold Steel is playing games and making a basic sheath an after market option. Get real CS, just throw it in and charge the extra 1,2,3, dollars it cost you to either buy or make this dime store knife sheath. I have never had a problem with inexpensive knives and tools coming with a basic cordura sheath, but this is an insult (you should be insulted too)The main point of my review is this. If you decide to buy this sheath, it fits the trail hawk fine. Just wrestle it on there the first time and leave it on for a few days.

Perfect fit for my Hawk!
I recently purchased a Cold Steel Trail Hawk identical to the one shown in the picture for this sheath. The Hawk did not come with anything over the blade except for a plastic cover that sadly would not hold up if you tried to use it (I sense it was more for shipping purposes vs actual protection/use). Therefore, I wanted something a bit more durable and something that could be taken on and off easily. I have to say, that this sheath fills those two requirements perfectly. First it is well made. The outer material has a good feel and sense of durability, the nylon webbing around the edges is sewn on and appears to be of good quality, there are also three metal rivets which help join the corners and provide extra strength. Second, the snap and strap closing mechanism is snug to secure the Hawk but not so tight that it makes it difficult to engage or disengage from the Hawk.Overall I am quite pleased with the cost, fit and quality of this sheath and I expect that it will last as long as the Hawk if I take the proper care.I tend to do a lot of research on products before I decide to make a purchase. I rely heavily on the feedback from others before placing an order. Recently, I have been trying to contribute by posting my own personal feedback so others may also benefit from what I have learned/shared. Hopefully you found this to be both helpful and informative.

you would think that it would actually fit
not impressed with this product. the strap is too short, and the rivet that is on the strap side prevents the cover from even being useful. I would suggest buying a small shot bag and using that instead of this product. I had an old shot bag, and it works great for a hawk head cover.I will also say that the hawk, needs work as well. I am in the process of refinishing this. I have removed the set screw, took the head off and honed the shaft, fits great with a little work. my next plan is to drop the head into paint remover and then use a gun blueing process on it. After that, I will sharpen it.I bought the hawk knowing it would be a project, so I will be reviewing that as well.

Takes some break in and a day in the sun for the strap to secure.
This item arrived in a sealed envelope, but the product's packaging was opened. When I retrieved it from the simple plastic it's packaged in it was dirty. Someone had obviously used this and returned it, and the seller sold it as new. I tried in on my Trail Hawk and it doesn't fit, not even close! Another reviewer is stating that the nylon will stretch over time. Wrong. Ballistic nylon doesn't stretch, it wears out and gets soft over years of use but it's plastic, it won't stretch. This sheath is out of spec and the seller should return them to the manufacturer, not sell returned sheaths as new. I'm so bothered by this I have contacted Amazon and they have promised to resolve this and contact the seller for an explanation. I am definitely getting my money back.Update: So I didn't get my money back. I relented because I needed a sheath and didn't want to pay an outrageous price for a leather one. So I used a velcro strap to secure it to the head of the hawk. Recently, while processing wood innawoods, I went to place the sheath on, and tried the strap with the snap. Lo! And Behold! It worked! It was snug as can be, but I think leaving it in the sun for several hours warmed the nylon up enough to be pliable. Well, I stand corrected THIS nylon did stretch. So now it functions as as advertized. I take back all of the mean things I said about the seller's Dad. I will keep this snapped for several weeks to make sure the nylon doesn't return to worthless.

Cold Steel (SC90TH) Trail Hawk Sheath
Fits my Cold Steel Trail Hawk perfectly and facilitates strapping my Trail Hawk to the side of my pack without doing any damage to my pack or webbing. Nicely finished. Made in China.NOTE: THIS IS FOR THE COLD STEEL TRAIL HAWK. NOT THE PIPE HAWK, NOT THE SOG TACTICAL TOMAHAWK, NOT THE COLD STEEL FRONTIER HAWK, NOT THE COLD STEEL AXE GANG HATCHET; GOT IT ?????? If you buy it and it doesn’t fit what it was never designed for in the first place, don’t complain !!!!!!!! If it does fit your strange brand of tomahawk that isn’t a Cold Steel Trail Hawk then you are in luck. Either way it is a quality item and a bargain at this price !!!!!!

A great tool for the average Joe!
I have already enjoyed the Trail Hawk and I haven't had it on a full camping trip, yet. It breaks down wood for the fire pit, opens feed bags, and drives stakes like a champ. I added hockey tape to the handle and got rid of the slippery tendencies of the handle. Now, it is a tool that goes with me when I'm working.
