Better than scopes that cost 3 times as much.
Athlon makes a great rifle scope. Crystal clear glass, Sharpe reticle, easy to focus and zero.

HOLY CRAP! AWESOME!
OK, it is very crisp at all magnifications (out to 1100 yards so far). The Illuminated reticle is crisp also. The turrets move smoothly, accurately, very tactile clicks, but not too loud, you ain't gonna scare away the critters. Parallax is right on the money. Weight is great for what it is. Now what is it on? Browning X-Bolt Max LR 300 Win Mag. Sure, I have a Recoil Hawg brake on it of course, but it handles the recoil like a champ. Also, hand loader so my rounds are a bit HOT! I put it up against my others that are 2-3 times the price. Check out Backfire reviews on it too, I am using the 20 MOA Picatinny Rail and Athlon Precision Scope Rings, tall. I might have gotten away with mediums,. but it is what it is. Great company, excellent product.

Very clear optics
Very good optics, not sure that I’ll ever use the lighted reticle option. Be aware that the down stop is set to really limit adjustment. All you need to do is loosen the screws on the stop ring to go further down.

I’m very pleased with this scope! Even when set it on the maximum magnification, I do not find it to be fuzzy at all. I would highly recommend this as a great scope, especially for the money!

Great value
Having used cheap scopes for years, upgrading to this scope was a game changer for me! Great clarity, can tell it’s good glass. Good clean ticks when adjusting. Would happily buy another without any second thought

Very nice for precision airgun.
This is a very good optic for my purpose.I like to shoot precision grouping with competition air guns. The magnification range allows me to pinpoint my aim point. Also, with the first focal plane reticle, the scope allows me to use my kestrel and DOPE to dial in or use the same hold over regardless of the magnification range. The turret tracking is spot on as of right now and I dial all stationary targets out to right at 200 yards. If I am having to track a moving target, sometimes I will use the "dirty" reticle for hold over and windage.I would recommend this scope to anyone who is looking for a first focal plane scope with repeatability.By the way....the turrets clicks are very crisp and audible. The zero stop has allowed me to quickly engage targets at various ranges because I don't have to remember where I am on the elevation. I engage the first target, quickly dial back to zero,if there are significant differences in range, and then dial my next elevation. This does require one to know the close approximation of the target ranges. It also helps to be experienced with dialing for elevation and windage.

Good Economy Scope for the $
So far so good. Only using it on a 223 target rifle. Don't know how it would fare on a magnum. Turret clicks are crisp and countable. Glass is clear edge to edge. As other raters have said in many forums there is a significant amount of black edge around the field of view, & it requires a short eye relief to get the fullest field of view, so you may have to mount the scope back as far as you can tolerate. Parallax focus works well, BUT alleged distance marks aren't accurate so you dial to whatever until your target is in focus,.

Value for price point=5 stars
I'm a professional photographer and a premium glass snob. But in this case, long range accuracy performance is the king, so with that said the glass isn't the finest but it isn't a hindrance to the performance. The performance for me in this case is turret tracking and proper MOA reticle calibration. Athlon has done a great job and I can report that these most important functions are spot on!My eyesight is not the best so I also demand a full illuminated reticle and this scope doesn't disappoint. I chose the 8-34 for long distance reticle ranging out to 1000 yards and beyond on elk and deer. Being able to zoom way in makes for finer more accurate reticle ranging on 17-34 inch targets. Once I confirm the range I back off the zoom to a preferred focal point and engage.FOR THE PRICE, you won't find a better scope right now that is actually in stock! Only the ARKEN SH4 GEN2 can take the top spot for build quality but it has a 16 week backorder and growing. It however does NOT have a full illuminated reticle and it is only 4-16 power. The no BS warranty of this Athlon scope removes the overpriced scopes from Vortex from contention. Both are made in China, as well as the ARKEN. The choice is clear...when looking at reliability, calibration, and repeatable function, this is the only scope to get.
