This dictionary not only show you the meaning of word but also will show its origin in hieroglyphics and demotic more common source. Yes, this is not authoritative Crum's Dictionary, but it is less expensive and have enough amount of words, this is great for who are studying different Egyptian writting system.The only warning is that this Dictionary is ordered alfabetic but also with root word, therefore some of words will be found in other place than one can think. But a great point it is this is not a reprint or ocr reproduction is the actually book and this is great. Very small (comparing with Crum's "Monster-Sized" Dictionary) and very portable, also all demotic and hyeroglyphic writtings are translitered, and has its reference to diferent authors and grammar for consulting. As a point to be considered before to buy, this one has not English-Coptic equivalent this is an unidirectional dictionary Coptic English, Hyeroglyphic - Demotic Etimology. this is an outstanding piece of scholarship, you get word definitions for coptic words in both english and egyptian hieroglyphics. i can't even imagine how much time and energy this must have taken to compile. A+++++
