THIS IS A 5 STAR ITEM BUT,,, I ALLOWED ONLY 4 BECAUSE I FOUND THAT BY DRILLING OUT THE DISCHARGE HOLE TO A LARGER SIZE IT DIRECTED THE WATER JET FLOW STRAIGHTER INTO THE TANK THEN WHAT THE FACTORY AIM POINT WAS. IT TOOK ME A COUPLE OF TRY'S TO DETERMINE THE CORRECT SIZE THAT FINALLY SHOT THE WATER STREAM INTO THE BLACK WATER TANK AND REALLY WORKED LIKE I FELT IT SHOULD. FOR THAT REASON I DEDUCTED ONE STAR. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND SLOWLY INCREASE THE BORE SIZE THEN TEST IT'S EFFECTIVENESS AND PERFORMANCE AFTER EACH DRILL SIZE TO FIND THE ONE THAT WORKS BEST FOR YOU. THIS IS THE ONE DETAIL THAT MAKES THIS THE "FANTASTIC" PIECE THAT I'M SURE THE MFG. COMPANY WAS REALLY SEARCHING TO ACHIEVE. IT NOW WORKS GREAT AND WE LOVE IT. SORRY FOLKS BUT I HAVE TO CHANGE MY RATING TO 5 STARS !! THE HOLE THAT I ENLARGED WAS PART OF THE LARGE DRAIN FITTING. THIS CHECK VALVE ITSELF WORKED PERFECTLY. I USED IT TO REPLACE ONE THAT WAS BROKEN AT THE WATER HOSE CONNECTION..I'LL BUY ONE AGAIN SHOULD I INADVERTENTLY BREAK THIS ON AS WELL. HOPE I GOT THIS "EDIT" POSTED CORRECTLY. GARY

Works great, just don't put too much pressure through it. Bought this to replace one that blew up when too much pressure was applied. That one lasted 10 years though. RV use.

Use on my

I use a set of these when using the flush port on my macerator pump. One goes before the hose, one goes after the hose and on the flush port. This way, there is no chance of foul water making into the hose (which is marked for grey water usage and not drinking water), much less into the fresh water supply.I also use one of these to connect to the outgoing hose when it is not connected to the macerator pump. The reason for this is to prevent anything in the hose from coming back out and causing odors.So far, no leaks from the plastic design.

Water seems to spray from this anti siphon device, and not from the intended relief valve. The spray is from where the hoses meet the female and male joints of this device. Not sure whether it's intended by design, is a design flaw, or due to "user error." I will try it out a few more times and update as needed. A bit disappointed at this point. Otherwise Valterra puts out good stuff.

When RVing you can never have too many of these to keep the yucky stuff out of the fresh water tank, fresh water hose, fresh water system, etc. Worth the cost to keep you protected.

Worked as it should. Good replacement. Fits a standard hose and the black water clean out.
