This item is as described by the manufacture and works as described.
Installed this item a few weeks ago and so far it has worked great. Came with 2 extra springs as noted in the description. Good product and as described by the seller. I would by this product again in the future if needed.

Made in USA quality higher performance than stock
Works great i recommend this over a stock because it offers better pressure. Haven't had an issue so far. And its made in USA.

Great oil pressure on old engine
I had a lifter fail on my 5.3 vortec 03 suburban. I pulled both heads, replaced all the lifters, springs and valve guid seals and put in a stage 2 cam. I had decent oil pressure before so I left the oil pump in place. I thought I dropped a bolt down the cam valley though so I pulled the oil pan and pick up tube. I reused the o ring on the pickup tube and that was a terrible idea. After everything was done I started the truck and had 40psi at idle but after the engine warmed up it would drop to less then 10 at warm idle.I decided to just order a new oil pump and because of the choppy idle I opted to up the oil pressure. This pump performs great! I used the installed spring, instiall the bolts hand tight and then spin engine 360 degrees to align the pump and then torque the bolts tight. I primed it by cranking the engine with the injectors unplugged on each valve cover. Once I plugged the injectors back in and started the truck it built pressure instantly. I attached 3 photos, one showing cold idle, one showing cruising and one showing warm idle. Oil pressure peaks just under 80 psi on hard throttle and never drops under 40 now. Very happy, hopefully I get another 240,000 miles out this engine now.

Melling oil pump
Don't buy a cheap oil pump off of Amazon and then have to replace it almost immediately like I did. Get the melling pump, you won't regret it. The Chinese pump I bought it was hard to get the timing chain cover over it.

Amazing oil pressure
I run this pump on every Silverado/Sierra I work on that even remotely requires a pump/ timing cover removed. I alway use the max psi spring. One 6.0 I put one in with 270k well maintained miles holds 65 psi going down the highway all day long. One of my 5.3s that wasn’t so well maintained with 255k miles holds about 53 psi on the highway. My severally beaten and abused 5.3 holds 45 psi going down the highway. That’s just 3 ive done and I will always use this pump when I need to. Also I’ve never pulled the oil pan the pickup bolt does suck sometimes but not too bad

Good Pump but not a 1:1 OE replacement in a high mileage engine.
I installed this in a high mileage (195K) 5.3 that had an O-Ring failure on the pickup tube of the OE pump. Before replacing the pump and O-Ring (failed pickup o-rings are the most common cause of low oil pressure in the LS) I was getting Low Oil Pressure warning at startup on Cold Start up. Now I have ~50 psi on start up and hot the oil pressure holds steady at ~40psi. I figured I might as well upgrade and replace the Oil Pump while doing the O-ring job and am happy with the restored oil pressure provided by the Melling pump. A side of effect of Increasing/restoring Oil Pressure in my 5.3 with this pump caused oil to be pushed through the PCV and into the intake manifold, it was an easily solved issue with a Moroso Oil Separator, just be warned especially if you have an older LS without the updated PCV system (mine was updated but still needed the separator after installing this pump) you might have the same issue. If you smell any burning oil you'll want to install the oil separator pronto, otherwise you'll degrade your catalytic converters and get P0420, P0430 or both.As another reviewer mentioned it was impossible to remove the internal hex plug to change the relief spring. Instead of stripping the plug I left the supplied pressure spring in the pump.
