Vortex 24807 2.4 mm Strimmer Nylon Line

Vortex is one of the best strimmer cable we have used I would recommend it

Seems very good quality and lasts as long as the 3mm line it replaced - but feeds more easily through the auto-feed spool.

The difference between using this line and a conventional circular line is like the difference between using a sharp knife and a blunt one. The machine cuts better, with less load on the engine, and the line lasts much longer (particularly when cutting against a concrete wall - it lasts 3-4 times longer). It does tend to be a little more difficult to pull out of the head due to the ridges on the line itself, but the lack of stops to pull out the line more than compensates. I'd say it might be wise to use a size smaller than you'd usually use with a regular line: In my case, I always used a 3mm circular line, but the 2.4mm vortex line is a perfect replacement, it lasts longer, and is easier on the engine and clutch. A 3mm vortex might not work as well. I have heard that these lines can be more severe on the machine, so that's why I'd err towards a size or two smaller than you've previously use. I've even cut briars and tall docks without any breakages (and my old line would ALWAYS break when cutting these). Very happy with this purchase and will definitely buy this same line again.

I got a refund for this as it seems slightly thicker than 2.4 mm and wouldn't fit my Ryobi trimmer head which is for a 2.4 mm wire. These wires are textured so perhaps that is why it didn't fit I have no idea. Other than that it looked strong and is well packaged just didn't work for me.
