Works well, easy to apply
Works excellently, and very easy to apply! I have an i9 so heat is definitely on my mind, but just with the Noctua NH-D15S, this paste, and a little undervolting, I'm able to keep temps relatively low. I'm not regularly benching or anything, but with gaming/streaming, I hardly see temps get over 80C.Side note: I ended up returning mine because my CPU cooler actually came with this already bundled, so be sure to check that!

Noctua is the best
Noctua is a real hero for making this mounting kit. I bought this mounting kit to replace a suspicious aio with an old noctua nh-d15 I had lying around to go on an lga1700 motherboard. And it fits like a glove. Also bought some of noctuas thermal paste. I can’t say enough about how good that paste is. I’ve tried a lot of dif brands and this one is reliable. It never dries out and I get good temps. No complaints. On a side note if you buy this mounting kit do make sure that you use their backing plate included in the kit. If you don’t it may not tighten down all the way because the threads in the thumbscrews most likely aren’t deep enough to fully tighten down on your old backing plate. And it will probably be a bit loose. That was the case with mine and im glad caught that right away. I was just too lazy to take the rear panel off the case and fish it out. With that said this kit will work on an lga1700 motherboard.

Noctua is always quality
good, used the same tube for about 2 years repasting my CPU and worked great all that time.

Noctua's NT-H1 performs better than Arctic-5 Silver for my laptop!
A couple of months ago, the system fan failed in my HP laptop. Six years of 12+ hours per day use, and it gave up the ghost. Since this required major surgery on this PC, replacing the system fan (required) was the first given, along with upgrading the internals and re-pasting the CPU. I know what some of you are thinking – “isn’t that good money after bad?” Fair question. A laptop that was adequate, but not outstanding, at the time of purchase wouldn’t otherwise justify the expense. Because of the system fan’s behavior, I also couldn’t be sure that it hadn’t caused thermal damage to the CPU. A bit of risk, to be sure, but I hoped that it could be resurrected into being the best that it could be and last a few more years. I re-pasted the CPU with Arctic-5 Silver, as it was highly-rated in many places. After re-assembling the laptop, though, I noticed CPU temperatures were all over the map, for no apparent reason. One thing I ran across later were numerous mentions of Arctic-5’s curing time, ranging from a couple of weeks to a couple of months. That was unacceptable, since the laptop doesn’t have the greatest airflow, and curing could take even longer, if it is dependent on some type of reliable air movement over the contact plate. There was also the possibility of the system fan not running correctly, or the heat pipe may have been damaged. The HP BIOS has one fan control setting (“Always On”, Enabled or Disabled). Warm air from the vent dispelled both of those ideas, even though I still thought the fan should be running just a tad stronger than it was. What if I didn’t go a good job with the re-pasting of the CPU, or the chance of CPU damage from heat? Replacing this motherboard, would be truly “good money after bad”, so that meant Plan B would be replacing the whole nine yards with another refurb PC. So, manned with the iFixit tool kit, I re-pasted with newly purchased Noctua NT-H1. The first re-pasting with Arctic-5 was not so bad as to explain the jumping bean temps, so on went the Noctua. And, guess what? Instant results! In fact, even better than the original poor quality job by HP. Arctic-5 may be acceptable in desktops or some laptops, but I’m going with Noctua from now on. I highly recommend Noctua NT-H1 if you have CPU cooling issues, especially with an older HP laptop. Noctua’s NT-H1 is 5-Star worthy in my book!
