Fan for MSI GS65 Stealth 8SE 8SF 8SG Thin 8RE 8RF GS65VR 16Q2-CPU-CW 16Q2-GPU-CW CPU Fan + Gpu Fan

When I received the fan I took them from the package one of the dual fans where slightly bent maybe due from packaging, but it still installed fine. Both fan part run quiet and smooth now and definitely fixed my issue I was having.

After installing and using the replacement fans, they do work, but they run at around 4000rpm while the originals were able to run consistently around 6000rpm with the coolerboost setting on. These do not cool as well because they will never get up to the rpm of the fans that originally came with my laptop. I might be expecting a heating issue in the future because of this.

The familiar off-balance growl is beginning already.Dont buy this, find a ballbearing fan setup, save yourself the headache. Installing fans in a gs65 is a real pain to begin with, having to replace them after only 3 months is foolish.

Bought these fans after I got the typical fan grinding so common to this laptop. Easy enough to swap out.I do have a couple of talking points for these though:-One screw hole for the gpu fan is not centered. Everything else lined up fine-the gpu fan housing is not OEM shape but can be modified with a careful break using needle nosed pliers. It will not fit if you do not do this. But easy enough to do and only added maybe 30 seconds to the job.Reviews say theses fans do not reach OEM speeds. To compensate, I pulled the whole heatsink, cleaned it and the gpu with rubbing alchohol and cotton pads and applied new thermal paste. Laptop is running noticeably cooler even without the cooling boost in dragon center. I recommend this as MSI is notorious for poor thermal paste jobs.

The parts work great in my GS65. These fans seem even quieter than the OEM fans it replaced, but could just be because they’re new.

It fits. It spins. Unfortunately, since it's not a true factory replacement, it spins slower. This means that the CPU heats up, so the mainboard spins up the fans, then when the CPU cools back down, they slow down again. This creates a constant cycle of the fans spinning up, then down, then up, then down... Very distracting. You can mitigate it a bit by setting custom fan curves, but it's still annoying.

Due to the different shape and slightely off on fitment, gave me some tough time. I did cut some piece off, to fit it
