Great for hyper mobility
I bought these for my son who has hyper mobility in his hands and these are great for relieving the pain he has from writing. They are durable and the design is perfect for him. They are thicker than normal pencils and the eraser is different. They write smooth.

Buy These to help your students!
My kid, who hates writing, loves to use these rocket pencils. So, now I don't have to fight with him all the time to complete his writing homework.

Very effective for kids
My 5 yr. has tried other pencil grips and it wasn't doing the trick. I got this and it has helped steady his fingers and hand in order to write. When he holds it correctly, he actually writes with more pressure. Great tool and I highly recommend. Too bad there's not a crayon set of these!!!

A must have writing w arthritic hands
I really wish someone would’ve told me about this over a year ago when my hand arthritis became so severe that i had to give up a hobby I’ve enjoyed doing since i was a teen, and have done diligently the past 35 years, which is to write in pretty journals. I like to write poetry so when writing became too painful, i just stopped journaling. For over a year. Went through hand surgery. Then at my physical therapy appointment many weeks after my hand surgery, i was instructed to use this to write with. I ordered within the hour of being told of this, and couldn’t get it delivered fast enough so I even did a search trying to find it in stock at local stores but found it was only available by ordering. So i ordered a few sets, one for home office, one for in my purse, and a backup readily available when I do what we all do eventually and lose our favorite pen. Wont be long til i will need to order again, when i lose my backups. And being able to journal again is most important to me in enjoying writing poetry. Sure do wish someone would’ve told me about this sooner though.

Excellent therapeutic and interesting device
This product has helped my grandson and a student develop proper pencil grasps abilities. This product also has helped a student who has a neurological disorder that causes discomfort when writing. The Twist and write product appears to be relieving some of that pain and stress writing has caused the student in the past. Highly recommend

The lead doesn't stay in the pencil
Not sure if we just got a defective set but this was a two pack and while it was great for proper finger placement the lead would not stay in the pencil. Pick up the pencil and the lead fell out. Tried putting it back in and twisting but it just didn't work. Not going to order another one.

Use standard 2.0mm drafting pencil leads and sharpeners
(Pictured: a Twist and Write pencil, the box for the replacement leads, a replacement pencil lead, a 2.0mm drafting pencil sharpener, and a normal-size mechanical pencil for size comparison.)As an adult who naturally has a deathgrip due to some proprioceptive issues, I have tried almost every writing instrument and modification available on the market. This isn't my perfect pencil, but that's not this little guy's fault because I'm pretty sure my perfect pencil does not actually exist yet. What I have learned is that this pencil actually uses standard 2.0mm drafting pencil leads, but shortened to fit inside the smaller body of this pencil. If you need precision, you can use 2.0mm drafting pencil sharpeners (the green sphere in the picture on this review) to sharpen the tip. (Remove completely from the pencil before sharpening or the lead will snap.)

Very fragile plastic.
I buy these pencils for my son who has trouble writing with regular pencils due to unstable joints. The problem is that while these pencils are very expensive they are all so very rickety. The lead is great but the plastic is very fragile and if you even drop it on the ground once you can easily break the twisting tip making it very hard to twist to extend the lead. I really wish the company would make a more sturdy product as they are perfect for my son and myself. This is the 8th four pack of pencils i've had to buy this school year. I buy the replacement lead but the replacement lead doesn't work with a broken pencil.
