Direct bolt on fit
Excellent fit on my 97 gmc c1500. Very well packaged and absolutely beautiful. This product is a direct fit. The orifice tube was the exact same one in the old system and the orings came in handy.

Works great and way cheaper than Auto Zone or O'Reilly's ($285ish for the compressor only). I haven't noticed noise as other had posted. Installed early April 2018. Currently it late July in PHX and working well. Would buy again if/when I need another compressor for my other vehicle.

Fixed my older truck right up
Replacement compressor and a freon charge got the AC on my older GMC truck back in order. Cools like a beast now.

The compressor "Locked-Up" after ONLY one good summer use in 2017
The compressor "Locked-Up" after ONLY one good summer use in 2017; Purchased this (supposedly) new AC-Compressor at the end of the Summer of 2016 and never really got it set-up, tested & running until the summer of 2017 and all seemed good; Yet, the beginning of the 2018 summer it 'Frozed-up' on me; That clutch burned-out and the compressor would no longer turn; Therefore, no cold air .... So basically it ONLY lasted (approx.) 6-months of running and that wasn't that often - we ONLY used the truck for some out-of-town vacation - it's NOT our primary vehicle ... The wife and myself BOTH have our OWN vehicles to run around town and our A/C had been running for YEARS !! Never again will I purchase such a product thru :: Buy Auto Parts c/o AMAZON !! I knew it was TOO good to be TRUE !! Errrrrr .... :( Now the money & time on this product could have been spent MORE wisely by just going to the car shop to get it FIXED w/a GOOD A/C compressor; And, a 36K/miles or 3-year warranty !! Going this route you've got no one to back-up their products !! Ugggg ... :(

Noisy but works.
I have a higher mileage 99 Yukon and didn’t want to spend a lot to get the A/C working. This did the trick, however, it is noisy.

I hate leaving bad reviews. I'll call this one 'Fiasco'
I've put this off for a while, but realize these reviews benefit others, so. . .. I bought a compressor and installed it (assuming it should work- was that wrong?) I installed and began charging it, then found the a/c fuse blown. I replaced it and it blew again. I unplugged it and no blown fuse. I ohm tested the clutch with my multimeter and found the coil had shorted :( Oh well stuff happens- should have tested it first? Part of my gripe is how hard it was to get BAP's contact info from Amazon. Am I computer dumb? So once I started calling (and there were many calls) to get a replacement, I realized there were two different call centers- probably depending on the type of issue or options pushed, I don't know. I found myself trying to get to the stateside one because the other one never helped at all, let alone could they even understand the problem! So I called and was given the option to return mine and get another at no additional expense to me- cool. Also, I could pay a deposit (essentially buying another one) and get one shipped right away, then when the other was returned, I'd get that deposit back. I chose that option (triple digit temps in Arizona). Got it pretty quick and swapped them out (checking the resistance in the coil first- I can be taught). I installed it- - - blown fuse. What?! I checked it again. The coil was bad! So even if they tested the resistance in Quality Control (I'm going to assume they have that department), it would have tested good until power is applied!A few calls later and I was able to eventually get return labels for both compressors and a promise of a refund of (almost) all my money. Part would be straight to my card and the other to Amazon. I'd have to deal with them for refund of the initial purchase. Fortunately Amazon was very accomodating and made sure I got the full refund post-haste.So the reason I had initially contacted the seller directly was because the return policy through Amazon for this seller required I pay for return shipping. It sounded unfair to me so it seemed like the logical conclusion at the time to go straight to the seller. Listen, I'm sure most parts are fine and no one would ever have to go through this process- but if you do, good luck. Special thanks to Diana who was at the good call center and was the most helpful at BAP.The great price (like $100 less than what I eventually paid at O'Reillys) is what was so attractive, but in hindsight, it was definitely not worth dealing with all that for over a month! Hope this helps

Very good Quality AC product!
Brrrrrrrr! It's been frigid in my 1998 Chevy Silverado since I installed this New AC compressor 5months ago. The install went right quick and easy. After evacuation, system took 1 Freon bottle and threw out 52 degree cold air, while the outside air was 110 degrees summer hot, with heat index figured. We're talking a condensation drip looking like a river after just 20mins of idling!
