Pruner Is Great
These thing works great. Used it to cut roses. It cuts them and then holds on to the rose until you open the jaws. Saves my wife from bending over and away from the thorns.

Pruner for single small branches
This tool is basically what I expected, although the cutter is quite small. It's somewhat difficult to penetrate a cluster of "holly branches for example", and is much easier to position and cut single separated stalks or branches. Leaves can obstruct positioning of the cutter and it's hard to see from below. Otherwise, it cuts well and does the job. It seems durable and it's easy to handle. I somewhat recommend it given that the cutting blade mechanism is on the small side and can be difficult to maneuver among clusters and leaves.

Well made and very useful for certain tasks
Here are some facts about the pruner that are hard to glean from the ad and the reviews: The black foam grip slides easily up and down the shaft to give the operator better control of the cutting end. The red handles are made of metal; the only plastic parts are the two red jaws at the other end of the pruner that are designed to grasp and hold the cuttings. Those jaws make it physically impossible to cut through anything non-compressible that is more than 7-8 mm in diameter (a little more than 1/4”). However, if the smaller plastic jaw is removed from the sharp black metal cutting blade (easily done by removing two Phillips-head screws), then relatively soft branches and stems up to an inch in diameter can be cut. The cutting blade is quite sharp and cuts easily. Locking the handles closed streamlines the pruner but is more importantly a safety feature, as it sequesters the sharp blade when not in use. The 4-foot length of the pruner is especially nice for cutting thistles and other weeds at their bases without having to bend over or stick one’s arm into a spiny thicket. I should probably give this pruner a 4-star rating because of the incomplete/misleading information in the Amazon ad, because of the absence of an enclosed instruction sheet, and because the pruner is somewhat overpriced, but I’m giving it 5 stars because of the quality of its construction.

Impressive tool!
Trimming shoots off of some of our trees/shrubs is a task beyond my knees. Getting up and down from the ground becomes painful quickly. With this tool I can trim from ground level up to about 8'. It easily cuts branches up to a little over 3/8". This is what I anticipated. I can trim down far enough to get the rest with lopping shears if needed. Cutting off dead ends is easy. most surprising is the ability of the plastic jaws to grab the cut off branches. They are held securely enough to be able to pull them out thru the plant easily. The jaw will automatically rotate to cut the branch squarely. Or if you prefer an angle cut you can manually rotate the head to the desired angle. I really like this tool. My knees love it!3/30/24 I'm still impressed/pleased with this tool. It has remained sharp and sturdy. It allows me to trim/prune plants without the need for a step stool/ladder. It's amazing how much that speeds up the process.

Best loper I've ever used!
This is exactly what I wanted and more than I expected to get. It is sturdily built, light weight, has just the right length and is plenty powerful cutting things in hard to reach areas. The grabber aspect actually grabs the branch as you cut it allowing you to easily extract/remove the limbs from within all in one move. It's literally the greatest yard tool I have. It adjusts cutting angles on the fly and pretty quickly you'll be adept at using it and loving it. It's very functional and saves effort. I feel it is going to last a long time because of its construct using a solid rod between the hand piece/actuator and the loper blade. This ensures it won't get stretched out like a cable would. I am most pleased with it overall. I HIGHLY recommend this device. Just buy it. You'll see.

Great Product
I have a bad back, and this clip and hold cutter allows me to get my roses trimmed and other bushes, in my yard. I don't know what I'd do without it. In addition the price on this particular brand was a bit less than my previous clip and hold cutter. So some money was saved in addition to being satisfied with the quality of the product.

Disappointing
Sorry to say this does not work even on smaller twigs.
