I've been taking Dr. Tobias' probiotics for about six months now and can genuinely feel a difference. My digestion has improved, I feel less bloated, and my overall gut health seems much more balanced. They’re easy to take and don’t upset my stomach like some other brands have in the past. Highly recommend if you're looking for a reliable daily probiotic!

An IBS Game Changer
I have “post-infectious irritable bowel syndrome.” After suffering with it for several years (and seeing doctors and taking meds) I have been asymptomatic for the past 4 months, when I started taking this product. That may not sound like a long time, but it is record-breaking for me!I haven’t experimented with NOT taking it, so I can’t say that I’m cured. But I have not gone this long without a flare in years. I take one capsule before bed. No side effects. It may not work for everyone - but at $25 a bottle, it’s certainly worth trying! I had tried several other treatments through the years, both prescription and holistic. This is the only thing that has been entirely effective. (Some medications have helped me stay functional, but I still had to plan my life around them… when to take them, when it was safe to eat, etc… but now for the first time in years I’m eating what I want, when I want! It’s amazing. I know it sounds too good to be true, but I wouldn’t be taking the time to type this if I didn’t think it was absolutely worth sharing.)If you’re struggling with IBS, I highly recommend giving it a try! In addition, I keep a bottle of Dr Tobias’ “Digestive Enzyme” capsules on the table to take with meals. I started taking those before I started the probiotics, and while they weren’t predictably effective, they were helpful, too, so I’ve continued with them.I hope this info helps somebody get their life back to “normal.” IBS is a beast that’s hard to beat. Everybody (and every body!) is unique, but there are lots of things to try out there… so keep trying! I hope this works for others like it did for me.

"Probiotic supplements for disorders that frustrate conventional medicine"
Bacteria have a reputation for causing disease, so the idea of tossing down a few billion a day for your health might seem — literally and figuratively — hard to swallow. But a growing body of scientific evidence suggests that you can treat and even prevent some illnesses with foods and supplements containing certain kinds of live bacteria. Northern Europeans consume a lot of these beneficial microorganisms, called probiotics (from pro and biota, meaning "for life"), because of their tradition of eating foods fermented with bacteria, such as yogurt. Probiotic-laced beverages are also big business in Japan. Some digestive disease specialists are recommending probiotic supplements for disorders that frustrate conventional medicine, such as irritable bowel syndrome. Since the mid-1990s, clinical studies suggest that probiotic therapy can help treat several gastrointestinal ills, delay the development of allergies in children, and treat and prevent vaginal and urinary infections in women.Self-dosing with bacteria isn't as outlandish as it might seem. An estimated 100 trillion microorganisms representing more than 500 different species inhabit every normal, healthy bowel. These microorganisms (or microflora) generally don't make us sick; most are helpful. Gut-dwelling bacteria keep pathogens (harmful microorganisms) in check, aid digestion and nutrient absorption, and contribute to immune function.Probiotics benefitsNot all probiotics are the same. Different strains of the bacteria have different effects. For example, one strain may fight against cavity-causing organisms in our mouths and don't need to survive a trip through our guts.Research has been promising for these friendly critters. Potential benefits of probiotics have been seen in the treatment or prevention ofdiarrheairritable bowel syndromeulcerative colitisCrohn's diseaseH. pylori (the cause of ulcers)vaginal infectionsurinary tract infectionsrecurrence of bladder cancerinfection of the digestive tract caused by Clostridium difficilepouchitis (a possible side effect of surgery that removes the colon)eczema in children.

I bought this supplement for my son who had Ulcerative Colitis and recently had his colon removed. So I can not personally review the product, and my son has not begun to take it since he is finishing a previously purchased probiotic. The only reason I may not reorder this supplement is that I can purchase a probiotic from my Food Cooperative with the same number cultures and probiotic strains for $.68 a cap compared with Dr. Tobias brand at $.87 a cap. However your product has "2 extra spore forming strains." So if my son does notice a benefit from the extra spore forming strains I would probably keep ordering your product. Thank you for the free extra bottle. It is much appreciated since the price of probiotics make it very difficult to keep purchasing them on regular basis.
