Feels solid, takes less room to store that my 3 piece original.
I bought one of those inexpensive backdrop stands—the kind with the three-piece crossbar. And then I lost one of the pieces! Now it’s useless. You can’t buy replacement parts either. This one telescopes so it’s impossible to lose a part, and it’s easy to collapse for storage/transport. I can also make it a custom width. It’s lightweight aluminum like the original, so you won’t be doing chin-ups on it…but it’ll hold a fabric backdrop or roll of seamless paper just fine. The ends swivel and the holes are big enough to easily slide over the wide pins on top of your light stands. I recommend it if you’re thinking of buying.

Yup, it's a pole.
It works - not the sturdiest construction on earth but for the price it does what I needed, no complaints.

The last section doesn't lock.
I received this crossbar, and while I think it looks nice and is decent in quality, the twist-lock mechanism for the last section doesn't work. I tried calling the support number listed on Amazon, but it turned out to be invalid. Additionally, I visited their website and submitted a support request, yet I haven't received any responses or confirmation emails regarding my submission. As for customer support, I'm unsure what to do next. I would prefer not to ship the item back; instead, I hope they can send me a replacement part, but I haven’t heard anything from them.

HealthCare Worker!
These are the hardest of times and even so much harder for those needing extra help. Perfect telescoping backdrop support rod for the counselor to establish a virtual conference room.

It's adequate
Granted this isn't very expensive, but it's just a collapsible pole. It doesn't sag under weight, but the opening/closing mechanism is, to be polite, crude. It binds, and squeals when you try to collapse or extend the sections and the metal at the edge of the large tube had sharp edges, which I sanded. If you think of this pole as a long tripod leg, that's the concept but it's nowhere near as smooth operating as a tripod leg.The seller was great about sending a replacement but it's about the same as the first.

A little lightweight. In a good way!
I use these in my traveling photo business. They pack nicely and can support light backdrops. I've never used one for heavy muslim so I cannot comment on that. But they extend easily, and can lock into place as needed. Exceptional value for sure.
