The wheels snap into place when you assemble the chair; they don't fall out of place if you lift it.

Q: what's the difference between the mesh and vinyl chairs?

I find the mesh chair to be very supportive and air circulation is better. I don't have a vinyl seat - I have a cloth seat which again is very comfortable and cooler to sit on.
