Nice cold beer on tap, anytime
I love my beertender. I have been using it now for about 1 1/2 months and it keeps my beer cold and it always has that on tap taste. Very easy to use and clean. unscrew nozzle to wash, with or without keg installed, fast easy wipe down of keg compartment and overflow tray all easy to maintain. It does seem to pour a little heady compared to kegs and draughts that I am used to. I know the purist will cringe, but I find a little lime in the glass before the pour seems to help with the perfect head (only with the Heineken I don't have the heart or guts to try it with the Newcastle). The two downsides are that currently in my area there are only 3 beers available, Heineken, Heineken Light, and Newcastle, but that has nothing to doe with the unit that would be corporate dealings. Second, you have to buy the beertender tubes for use with the mini kegs, and they are a bit pricey for what they are. The kegs come with taps for use without beertenders. I think they should come with beertender tubes and let people buy the taps for use without the beertender, or provide neither, knock off a couple bucks and let everyone just buy what they need. Again not an issue with this particular item, but with corporate.

poor reliablity, poor customer service
I have so far had 3 beertenders over the past 5 years. All are dead at this point. The last one was this latest model. The unit failed after 4 months. The thermostat went bad and froze the beer keg.(ruining the beer, unfortunately) The unit was sent back to Krups and Viola! 12 weeks later, it was returned to me in working order. Must have done something really magical for the 3 months it was at the service center.I get the unit back, and it lasts all of 9 weeks and KaBOOM! The unit fails as before. I call Krups and complain that I don't want it gone for another 12 weeks and they could not care less.So finally, they tell me that they "never" see failure of this unit.LOL>The internet is filled with these beertenders failing. So, I asked if they would repair the other 2 as well, and they declined. Now, it is on it's way back to the 12 week center for another overhaul. It is a shame, since it is a great idea, and a cool product. But, it needs to be reliable.

Guess What My Friends Are Getting For Xmas
I have bought 3 of the Beer Tenders for gifts. I think they are required for anyone who loves beer. Let me start off that my major gripe is that you only can use with Heinkein of Newcastle and as a true beer lover I would love to see a greater selections which would include micro brews like Stone or Laguinatas. However nothing is better than draft beer and I will gladly drink Heinkein. It takes about 24 hours for the beer to get chilly enough to drink in the Beer Tender and the first beer is a little foamy but after that every pour is perfect and cold. As a tip keep a glass in your freezer and it will add to the enjoyment and cut down on the foam. Every 5 liters will need a new straw so make sure you order extra. The beertender is somewhat bulky and does need some clearance room to put and take out the keg. All in all after 6 months and 7 kegs later the Beertender still works great. As I said I am giving these out as Christmas gifts so I really do support the product.

Great device when friends come over
Your friends will love this device! Very simple to use but the 5L of beer will go fast. People just seem to be drawn to this device and want to try it. Buy beer 5L mini keg already cold and drop it in. If not cold takes about 12 hours to cool. Will go fast at parties so need a cold spare in refrigerator. Keeps beer fresh for 30 days. Each mini keg requires a plastic tube from keg to device. Comes with 5 tubes but you will have to purchase more. Amazon sells additional packs for $10.The mini kegs are about $23 each and can be found in the cold beer section of a large supermarket. Currently there seems to be 3 types of beer that will fit this device. But that's OK, your fiends will love whatever you put in it. Not recommended for outside use on hot days. It will not keep the keg cold enough if outside. Runs silently.

Heineken Draught keg Hard to Find Refill
I love this but the attachment are not easily found in the liquor store.. Initially purchased it for my father in law cause he loved mine. I should of just given him mine. The the Heineken Draught Keg was launched in 2007 back then it was more easier to find the small keg's but as I visit my local package/ or liquor store the small kegs are not easily accessible.. The store clerk said no one really buys them so they do not keep them in stock anymore.. I used to be able to purchase them at walmart superstores.. I find myself traveling to several supermarkets and wine and liquor stores to find the refills.. I would not recommend purchasing unless you know for a fact you can either get the small kegs delivered to your house or have the patients to place a special order to use it at your party.. the expiration date is not that long once you open the beer.
