There was a modest improvement in the sound. High quality connectors and cable and a shortened cable reduce the overall resistance. Getting rid of the memory wire in the ear area gets rid of any capacitive effects it might have. I think this is how the improvement in sound quality is achieved. The cable looks great and the plug at the end looks especially high-end. Some very thin heat shrink tubing is installed near the ears and this tubing provided the memory effect. The curve around the ears in here to stay unless you were to remove the heat shrink tubing and that would be very hard. If this priced was priced higher I might not give it 5 stars, but it comes close to competing with a $100 cable. It is quite a value at this price.

Held off on reviewing this until using it a few months. Overall, it's a very good replacement cable that is well made and should be sturdy. Like most, I tried it because it is significantly less costly than the Westone original.But, the "industrial design" is a mixed blessing. While it should be very robust, I also notice a lot more extraneous noise as the rougher cable moves around, especially if I'm wearing a hood. The stiffer cable doesn't conform nearly as well around my ears as the Westone version, so I have to snug up the "slider" to keep the cable from falling off my ears. And, I have to be extra careful in rolling them up because the stiffer cable tends to kink or take a set more than the Westone's.So, I'm giving these cable 4 stars because they are a good value but not a perfect replacement for the Westone OEM cable. When these wear out, I'll probably pony up the extra and go back to the Westone originals.

Cord didn't last returned to sender. Highs are too bright for my liking and the cord provides alot of noise when moved.

Not all MMCX connectors are the same. Who knew? I thought it was a standard. Instead, the connector sleeves for Westone phones overlap the connector so they don't attach to other IEMs. The product blurb said they were for Westone earphones, so I guess it's my bad. Caveat emptor. Sux.

Spend the extra money and get the official cable, or a better one. The connector for the left headphone did not connect no matter how hard i pushed. The Right headphone connected with light pressure.Don't buy it. If you can spend the money required to get headphones that need a cable like this, spend the little bit extra to get a cable that fits.

Very good build quality. And it does change the sound a lot. This cable is tool to help you to tune the sound characteristics of the headphone.This cable has very low resistance (1 ohms round trip) compared to stock Westone cable (~8ohms round trip), so this will change how headphone sounds: more high frequencies, less low frequencies. If you find your headphone has too much bass, not enough clarity, this cable is perfect for you.

Working great in the first few times I have used this cable, and much more budget friendly than ordering direct from Westone. Time will tell about longevity/durability and if it doesn’t last I will try to remember to come back and update this review.
