Good quality/user-friendliness to price ratio
Good quality/user-friendliness to price ratio. Camera offers good picture (movie/photo) quality.Visible distortions yet it's normal for all cameras of this segment. So all pluses and minuses of this type of camera yet for very reasonable price. Also usage extra simple - big plus for it. Simply mount, switch record on and You're set. Same with ending - turn off, dismount - done. Build: sturdy and robust, factor very compact and eyes' pleasing. Some personal minus: camera has an automatic rotate feature: it levels camera with up-down direction based on camera orientation with gradation every 90 degrees. Could be better if precision would be up to a one or a few degrees: better mounting capabilities would be given for the user. Yet it's a minor thing for most users.

I am hating this thing right now!
I'm really starting to hate this thing! In first using it, all seemed OK. The image quality seemed to be OK, about on par with my old GoPro Hero. The first thing that bothered me was the mount. At the bottom of the camera is a "shoe", for lack of a better term, that slides into the mount and stays via a clip. This proved to be VERY loose, resulting in a lot of camera movement when mounted to my motorcycle. I placed a layer of tape on the "shoe" to fix it. However, this leaves one the impression of shoddy design. The next bothersome thing was that about 20% of the videos shot came out rotated 90 degrees! I ALWAYS mount the camera level, so there was no reason for it to do that. I disabled the auto-rotation feature in the camera, and that seemed to work...for a while. I'll get to that later. Then I purchased the iON mount that has a ball joint type of a mount. This too proved to be of a bad design, as the ball and the joint are EXTREMEMLY smooth, and no matter how much you tighten it down, the camera ends up moving with any wind hitting it. Roughing up the ball and joint helped, but again, seems poorly designed.I've had several occasions where the camera refused to turn off. Good thing there's a reset button on the thing, which fixed it.I just recorded a couple videos and in looking at them, one of them it upside down, and the other is rotated 90 degrees!!! This is with the auto-rotation setting disabled, so how on earth this happened staggers the imagination! Also, the sound when using it on the motorcycle is useless, as there's a loud, constant clicking noise. Never had this issue with the GoPro.On top of all these problems, the last couple videos I've done have been split up into smaller files! One of the 3GB files is now about 17 30MB files. Awesome! So yeah, right now, the way I feel about this POS, I'm about ready to take a sledge hammer to it and send it back to iON, with a note telling them what I think of it. Oh, well, I suppose the disintegrated camera would be a good clue though, huh?Just REALLY frustrated with this thing! So, if you are thinking of buying this useless POS, reconsider! Perhaps spend a bit more and get a GoPro, or have a look at the Garmin Virb.I've just thrown this thing into the trash where it belongs! Last time I EVER buy a product from iON!!

The Pro's Outweigh the Con's
After a full days use on my motorcycle, on and off road, I can easily say there are only a couple of things that I don't like about it. Over all it was a good purchase considering I got it here NEW on Amazon for $190.00!! Well worth $190.00.Pro's: Excellent video/picture qualityWaterproofInstalled mic is ok but I used an external mic which works great!Love the way that it mounts to my helmet with the side-ball mountField of view is niceSolid buildNice colors with the blue and blackTakes up to a 64gig memory card2.5-3hr battery life without Wi-Fi turned on (lasted all day!)The vibration against the helmet when turning it on, recording or shutting it down took out all of the guess work as to what mode the camera was in...VERY COOL! (And easy to operate with gloves on)Cons: Very noticeable wash out when operating in shadow and bright backgrounds (sitting in the shadows, the outside surroundings may as well not even be there however the shadow areas are nicely in view vs. blacked out.Wi-Fi view on my android was tiny. The ION APP for this is kind of crappy!Once the battery is gone…the camera is goneFor me the Pro's outweigh the Con's. It works for me
