The product has arrived on time, well packed and with no sign of having been opened. Inside, the 7-port USB 2.0 Hub is well finished with fixing screws in a Nylon bag. Install the product in a comfortable place, I included 12v and 10 amp power, it works very well. It has been a good buy. Greetings Felix

I have this mounted in a Jeep JKUR and it is working great. 12V power input to power up an SSD and other devices to run into my headunit via usb. Feels very solid and having panel mount style usb connectors with screw down connectors is nice to keep things connected while bouncing down the trail. Very happy with this one!

Great rugged product
Great product, works flawlessly on my telescope/CCD/Guide Camera, focuser and mount. I also don't need to add additional power as I get enough via my laptop, but the ability to use a separate 12v power source is helpful.

Dynamically reassigns port names
In terms of build quality, this hub is great. It takes industrial power sources to power USB devices and has a rugged metal case that can mount to DIN rail.In term of software, this hub is a bit a headache. I am using the hub on a Pi running python to monitor a number of USB-based sensors. The problem with this hub is that plugging in new devices reassigns ALL the serial ports. Because of this, you cannot simply plug in serial devices, figure out what port they are on, and hardwire that into the code. You have to be able to grab the id from each open port to determine what device is on which port at run-time. Huge headache.

A worthy hub
The ST7200USBM USB hub was just what I was looking for. Rugged construction, DIN rail mountable, external power option, and support for screw-down connections. Depending on your particular current requirements, the unit works fine with or without the external power. I'm buying more.

This is USB 2.0, NOT 3.0. Great unit, but be aware it’s not the fastest available tech.
This is a USB 2.0!!! The USB 3.0 unit is only $20 more. Just sayin’.

I have this over my desk and all the USB stuff on my desk plugged into it: keyboard, mouse, USB sound adapter, Smart card reader and spare ports to plug flash drives in. It is plugged into an Active 15 foot USB extension cable going over to my pc. Works great.
