21-71MB/s transfer speeds; you get what you pay for [UPDATED]
--------------UPDATE 9/3/2014I did a big transfer today of 14.7GB from the flash drive to my Dell N411Z laptop (specs listed below). The 14.7GB transferred in 4:02 minutes. 14.7gb = 15,052.8 MB. 4:02 minutes = 242 seconds. Divide 15,052.8 MB / 242 seconds = 62.2 MB/sec write speed.I then copied the same 14.7GB from the same laptop back to the flash drive and it was copied in 3:33 mins. After computing the math carefully, it came out to 70.7MB/sec. [14.7GB WRITE from laptop to USB in 3:33mins.15053MB / 213sec = 70.67MB/sec]I will up the rating from the initial 3 (for the initial low transfers) to 5 stars (for being fast now).---I am OK with this flashdrive. I have 2 1.5TB usb 3.0 HDDs and they give me at least 50MB/s when transferring large amounts of data, so I am disappointed w/ this flash drive, but since I paid only $25, I understand that I got what I paid for.Untrue claims about speeds. The look - It does not stand out from the crowd. It's actually made of cheap plastic. But for the price, it's a fine purchase. I wish the red one was available in usb 3.0 but sadly it is not.The speed - I only did one test so far. I copied 16.0GB from my newly formatted Dell Inspiron N411Z (8GB DDR3 RAM, Win 8.1 x64, i5 @ 2.50GHz, 4 CPUs) into this flash drive (formatted to exFAT) and it took 13:05 minutes. I of course had it plugged into the USB 3.0 port. Here's the math of this transfer: 16.0GB = 16,384MB. Divide that by 13 minutes and you get = 1260.3MB/minute. Divide that by 60 seconds and you get = 21.00MB/s.Then I copied the 16.00GB from the flashdrive into my Mid-2009 13-inch MacBook Pro, 4GB DDR3 1GB 1067 MHz, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 56MB, OS X 10.9.4 Mavericks, Intel Core 2 Duo. The data was copied in 10:57 minutes by using its USB 2.0 ports (this laptop does not have USB 3.0). So let's do the math: 16GB = 16,384MB. Divide that by 11 minutes = 1,489.45MB/minute. Divide that by 60 seconds = 24.82MB/s.There you have it. 21.00MB/s using my USB 3.0 laptop, and 24.82MB/s using my USB 2.0 MacBook Pro.I once owned a Patriot flash drive but lost it. On Amazon it's twice as expensive as this flash drive right now, but I did not have money to spend twice the money for more speed, so I settled for this instead. I am not necessarily crazy about speed anymore. In fact, I am a patient person. So, if you want twice the speed that this one offers, then a Patriot is what you want, but be ready to pay twice as much. I did not need more speed.I do not regret settling for this because the price is appropriate. You get what you pay for. 3/5.

Fast, durable, and affordable
For those who just want the short version:This flash drive is very fast and lives up to its advertised read/write speeds. The swiveling cover is very nice and the drive is aesthetically pleasing. The only downside that I have found so far is that the drive can get fairly hot when copying a large amount of files at once. Worth the price? Yes. Recommended? Definitely. For those who want some more details:WRITE SPEEDI copied 18 GB of music (2346 total files) to the flash drive in about 13 minutes, which is about half of the advertised write speed of 50 MB/s. However, it is still significantly fast, especially considering that copying a high amount of files at once slows down the transfer rate. Copying a 3 GB movie (which was a single file) to the drive took 38 seconds, which was about 30 MB/s faster than the advertised write speed.READ SPEEDCopying back 1 GB of music (98 total files) from the drive took 2 seconds. Copying back the same 3 GB movie from the write speed test took 4 seconds. These speeds are incredibly fast and are way above the advertised speed of 150 MB/s. It's worth noting that I copied these files from the flash drive to both an SSD and an HDD. In general, the transfer speeds for the HDD were about 3x slower and were closer to the advertised write speed. Since SSD's are faster than HDD's, this result was expected.DESIGNThe overall design of the flash drive is wonderful. Not only does it look cool, but it is also practical. It is short and thin and does not block the adjacent USB ports on my PC. The cover, which swivels 360°, is easy to turn and does not add much to the thickness of the device. It also locks in place every 90° so that it won't swing around when you don't want it to, and the lock is easily overridden with a slight push of the finger. If you want to put the drive on a key chain or a lanyard, the cover has a small hole in it for that very purpose. The decision to put the hole on the cover was a smart one, as it allows the cover to swivel with no obstructions. The only bad thing about the design is that the flash drive can get pretty hot when transferring a lot of files at once, but once it is done transferring, the drive cools down fairly quickly. As for the materials used in the drive, the main body is made out of hard plastic and the cover is made out of metal. The drive feels sturdy in my hand and I think it would require a pretty hard hit to damage it.
