Good stand
I have at least 5 of these. I like the small footprint, plus it collapses for flat storage or transport. Holds acoustic or electric. Good quality, stable, economical. I have read that the foam padding can react with nitrocellulose lacquer and mar the instruments finish. I haven't seen that on my older stands, but to error on the side of caution, I have glued thin leather to the back and lower support of the stands. It is working fine. I bought the first about 10 years ago. It is still like new.

Great stand for the money
For the money this is a great stand. It's sturdy enough for home and studio use and holds all of my acoustic and electric guitars comfortably. Of course exotic shaped guitars are not included in this. My only reason for giving the stand less than 5 stars is the tiny bit of rust on the stand itself. This was easily taken care of with light sanding and a bit of touch-up paint. I'm planning on buying a few more of these soon so that I can leave a few guitars out at once in my home studio instead of keeping them in their cases all of the time.

Simple, solid, lightweight, inexpensive
This is just what we needed to have a safe place to put the new electric guitar.I agree with other reviewers that it's better sized for an acoustic -- the hooks are wider than they need to be for an electric and yes, the electric is mighty close to the ground. The distance to the ground is the one thing I'd change here. The major parts are hollow metal, so it's strong but lightweight. There are caps on the bottom piece, so it won't scratch our wood floors. The hook/holder parts have a foam padding to better protect the guitar as you're putting it down. And it folds in half, so you can better pack it up if you need to.For less than ten dollars, I can't imagine finding anything better.

Simple, sturdy, portable and useless for electric guitars or basses
I was looking for a portable fold-up stand that I could take to gigs and searched around. Found the Guardian at Amazon and thought for $10, how could I go wrong? Oops! Wrong. The stand is sturdy and folds up nicely, but I found it next to impossible to get my Fender Jazz bass to stand up in it. The lack of an extended support for the neck means you have to try to balance the guitar very precisely against the apex of the stand and pray that no one gets near it or that the wind doesn't blow. This is OK for a lightweight acoustic that you don't care too much about, but for for an electric guitar or bass, no way.I just ordered a different one with a tripod base and a neck support. Live and learn.

Good for you-not for me
It's not great for my Mini guitar. it's non adjustable. It folds flat but does not have a "neck" arm. So I have to line it up to the center point. A regular sized guitar would work better because the complete stand would rest against the body.

You get what you pay for...
I like this style of stand a great deal, but not this specific one. Adequate, IF you are sure it will not get bumped or under go any kind of stress. Completely unfit for any application which requires a robust stand or any kind if durability. The square tube steel is VERY thin and the welds will pull out in a heart beat. I would certainly not trust any heavy guitar (like a Les Paul)in this stand. Hinge is also flimsy. Your guitar is an expensive investment, spend the money on a more durable stand that you can trust. Mine lasted a week before the weld pulled a piece of the square tube steel away. It was holding a Yamaha RBX 170 bass.

Great little stands.
Bought two of these about a year ago. Used for acoustic and electric guitars that get played daily. They work great and have held up really well with no cracking rubber or peeling paint. Certainly sturdy enough for any guitar. Just ordered two more. Still at a great price..... a good value.

Fantastic ...
I've recently replaced all my guitar stands with these as they:1. Are sturdy.2. Well balanced.3. Well made.4. Easy to pick up and replace the guitar into.5. Fits all my guitars and basses, acoustic and electric without adjustment.6. Safe.7. Lightweight but strong.I don't see what's not to like, and after years of watching people hang their guitars precariously and dangerously onto the wall, watching people use cheap stands that either fall over and damage the neck of the guitar, or just straight up fall apart, I don't see why anyone would use anything else.Every time I buy a new guitar -- I'm immediately buying one of these.
