Amar Chitra Katha is the best
Amar Chitra Katha books are a must read for kids. Mahabharata is definitely a good book especially for the kids whose parents have a background of this mythology. Even for those who do not, it’s a good starting point as the comic script and pictures are very beautiful. For kids younger than 12, parents may need to read these out to the kids while kids can watch the comic pictures to imagine the story as they follow the reader. There are 3 volumes of which totals all 42 chapters. I personally liked the quality of the binding and it is designed as a collectors edition.

Amazing looking quality book
3 Big books in a tough hard cover. Each book has like shiny parts on book e.g Arrow on first book will shine if you tilt the book. The sentences sometimes are a bit long but my 9YO seems to be loving it so far. He had started watching the Mahabharata on TV.No complains about the book. Its well made book, excellent looking cover, the art work inside is also beautiful just not as bright as the covers.Recommended for sure for kids ( and adults ) so they can learn some Indian culture and history.

Amazingly detailed for a comic book version. Thousands of pages. Respectful of the source material.
I was most surprised by the length of this collection. Its a three volume set with each volume being 2cm thick. It will probably take my daughter and I months to read it all. This is probably the most complete rendering of the Mahabharata in a format that’s accessible for a young audience. Even though it’s in graphic novel format, my 9 year old daughter who loves reading isn’t able to understand the story unless we read it together. Perhaps she will catch on after we get past the first few hundred pages. At least at the beginning there are too many characters and too much new vocabulary for her to handle on her own.

Masterpiece!
I love most Amar Chitra Kathas and grew up reading them. So when I saw the Mahabharata was available, I jumped at the chance to buy it....my only hesitation was that it was hardback and thus more expensive than just a simple comic book read. No regrets here though; it really exceeded all my expectations. Beautiful story telling, lovely illustrations. Only one thing I would add to it...a family tree insert. Sometimes it's a bit confusing trying to follow all the relationships that are key to the story but alas, that's the Mahabharata I suppose (I just started my only family tree)! The first 2 chapters can be overwhelming because they try to go through some of the relationships but don't let that deter you from what is an awesome story! Ended up giving it as a gift and they loved it as well and now trying to buy another one for myself!

Good overall quality, can be written a bit better though.
My 10 yr old son liked it very much. He completed reading 2 of the 3 books in about 2 days. I joined him in reading few chapters and felt the language used is a bit complex and could have been written better. The illustrations are beautifully done. Overall a good buy in my opinion.
