Rhode Island Novelty 13.25" Tornado Lamp

My son has about every tornado maker out on the market. He just loves everything tornadoes. So, as someone who has many of these things of varying size and built by different manufactures, I can say this is definitely a good one. This plugs into an outlet, changes color, and produces a pretty decent tornado. Its not the most powerful one out there, and it is prone to stopping (all you have to do is shut off and turn back on to get the spinner to work again). But the constant changing colors and tornado effect make it pretty neat. The spinning element in the bottom will hit the sides and produce a "tinging" sound as the tornado moves. So it does create a little bit of noise.

Bought this for my daughter. She had a lava lamp before that she adored. Sadly the pink glitter in the lamp faded out and the bulb died. Got this as a replacement and she has yet to turn it off. It illuminates her room perfectly. But by far the best part is that it doesn't get overly hot like her old lamp. She can confidently leave it on 24/7.

Well...this 48 year old grown man loves it too! :) It took the place in my office of my beloved Lava Lamp which gave up the ghost. Turns out...I like this MORE than I did the Lava Lamp. It makes ZERO noise, and is incredibly soothing to watch. The colors cycle smoothly and its sleek, geometric cylindrical design and a great contrast to the organic, twisting shape of the tornado inside. So happy with this!!!!

Well I am past the return period, I bought this in February for my son. At first he loved it. As of three weeks ago, it won't color change if the light comes on at all. All of the trouble shooting says use the remote to fix your issue, but this model did not come with a remote.I tried all the other remotes we have for all the LED color changing things in my house thinking one of them may have been coded the same which is why were were having this issue in the first place, but none of the remotes were tethered to the device.So I now have a pretty expensive paper weight. The motor spins still to create the Tornado. But this product is about 2 months old and already not working properly.

Lasted close to a year. I used it in my classroom, which means it was on from 8am to 4pm, 5 days every week. I got good use out of it, but I had wished it lasted longer. The magnet that spins works fine, but the light either broke or burnt out, making it kinda useless. When it was working, the kids loved it.

THIS THING IS AWESOME!!! My son loves it! At first we had issues to where the tornado had a hard time forming, and then it would break up and never reform after about 2 minutes. I saw other reviewers had similar issues. Being the repair man I am, I decided to take a chance to diagnose why this happens. If you gently remove the glass cylinder, you will see a circuit board with a spinning magnet that rests in 3 standoffs in the bottom housing. There are 3 springs that must be inserted into the 3 standoffs in the bottom housing, and then the circuit board has corresponding pegs that MUST be inserted into the standoffs properly. They will only fit one way. Triple check that you put them in there correctly and that the springs are seated, as well. After that, I have ran this thing 24/7 for a 3 weeks now without the tornado breaking up. Simply awesome!

I was under the impression from all the pics on the sell that I could keep one color but this is a multi color lamp that runs thru colors and also all you get is a paper with caution and danger info so I posted a video of what you will get. Personally that lamp is awesome just mistook it not being able to keep or run one color!

I first bought one of these tornado lamps for my older son's birthday and we were so impressed with it that we bought a second for his younger brother.These lamps will run 24/7 without any problems if you let them. Yes, the product images make the actual funnel look more dense than they really are but they're still a nice focal point and they also make for a great alternative to the usual night lights. We've had ours for over two months now used daily and no issues so far. I almost want one for myself now!
