An applicable short read that is great for us workers
Kruse's book conveys his thoughts in a quick and easy manner, and I do very much recommend it for the average corporate employee. Many books on employee engagement are written for management to try and design utopian workspaces - this book is a tool for the working person to take control of one's own situation at work. There are real, simple, and actionable ideas in this book that I can apply without needing my boss or work environment to change. I think that by using some of the techniques and building a pro-active relationship with my leadership, the ideas in this book will lead to me having a more fulfilling and productive work life.I gave it 4 of 5 stars because the editing left something to be desired - there was an inconsistency or two and the page formatting sometimes was awkward. The content, however, is probably worth your time.

Employee Engagement
I thought I'd just skim this book. But it's written in such a, to coin a phrase, engaging style, I found myself reading all of it. It's also structured in such a way as to immediately reinforce each point as it is made and to encourage the reader to really think about each point and how it relates to his own situation. The book explains what employee engagement is and how important it is for the profitability of the company and the happiness and health of employees. The book makes it clear that good engagement is the responsibility of both the company management and the employee himself. The book provides practical ways you can figure out what your own engagement style is and how you can work to improve your own happiness and productivity at work.Employee Engagement for Everyone is a must-have for workplace managers and employees alike.

A power punch for HR Managers
I must congratulate and compliment Kevin for writing such wonderful self-help book and to use such an unique promotion strategy. I couldn't stop reading the book and had to complete it while still in office. The best part of the book are those lovely quotes which have generously shared on my FB wall. I found many unique ways of engagements, concepts such as BHAG,ABCD were new to me, I will surely use them. The icing on the cake was the tough love section where he showed ways of dealing with dis-engaged people, OMG I have so many around me, they suffocate me at time. I am glad Kevin showed me the way of dealing with such people. His quiz on motivation driver is also good. I love the writing style and ease I felt going through such difficult HR concept. Thank You Kevin. Your book made a difference to me.

"Employee Engagement" demystified
As an employee and a manager, I've always thought "employee engagement" was only for Fortune 500 companies, the holy grail result of best practices. Not so, I learned, as Kruse deftly and succinctly walked me through the four "keys" foundation concepts and got me thinking about my own level of engagement with reflection activities and assessments. I was concerned about how I might even broach the subject at work, but Kruse anticipated that and provided the exact verbiage for me to use to break the ice with my boss and others (that I don't think will get me fired!).Brief but thorough, this book never wastes time. There are many aspects of engagement within my control, and now I know what they are and what to do about it. I'm going to get a lot of mileage out of this book. It's a keeper.

Not Bad
This is a quick read that I, as a manager, found helpful for the employee perspective on increasing employee engagement. I've done many exercises to determine engagement that were very similar to the exercises in this book. For something I got for free on Kindle, I'm happy with my "purchase"!

Extreme Engagement
For the last dozen years a major polling organization has refined statistics on employee engagement. Something less than 1/3 of employees in the average American company are contributing fully to their employer. Current estimates of this collective shortfall of talent and innovation is roughly $500 billion annually. Does anyone still seriously think the USA can retain leadership in the next decade with 2/3 of employees doing the minimum?Kevin Kruse's latest book demystifies the process and cuts it into bite sized chapters. Each has a short self assessment and hints to move forward. This book is not written for professors but for supervisors/managers everywhere. It is an easy read with elegant solutions. Ignore it at your peril.Tom Peters said it well three decades ago, "Hard is easy, soft is hard."Jerry Duff, Ph.D.
