This is neat
I was a little confused using this to replace a single button garage door opener. I reused the button on the inside of the garage. It took some careful reading, but I managed. Now I feel like my garage is a highly secure area. The keypad is very well built and feels tough. The keys are backlit making it easy to use at night. I like the beeping sounds. ? I guess I feel kind of nerdy with this review.Anyway, it works great and everyone thanks I am some kind of professional for installing new garage doors and this fancy opener.

A robust keyless entry keypad
A really well made and robust system! I have installed 3 of these in the past and they all function flawlessly our tenants love the keyless entry. This time I needed to replace one of them because of the rental location near the ocean the nickel plating begins to show corrosion after 2yrs. I mistakenly purchased a competing brand due to next day delivery I just wanted to get it done. What a mistake upon installation I saw that not only the competing unit was a cheap copy but it wasn't even sealed for dirt and water. The connections were also the screw tap type making this risky in a salt prone environment. The Retekess brand is completely embedded in black silicone making it bullit proof in weather. The unit is well lit at night too making easy to access even in the dark a bonus is that people think it is an alarm haha.A excellent unit for the money easy to program too.

zero for two
My first one died while doing initial testing and programming. The power supply was verified, but the LED went out and no beeps. The second one died after a few months of use. Same tests, same symptoms. This device has zero resilience to minor voltage transients. The robust steel case makes it a great paperweight. That's what it will be within a few hours of use.

A good product
Makes a great garage door keypad. Very heavy duty and weather resistant. I've had mine installed for several months with no problems. This keypad requires a separate 12vdc power supply to operate it. Contact closure to operate the door.

Well made but no fobs included
This keypad is very well made and looks like it will be much more durable than the plastic keypad I replaced. It was a little challenging to install, but works great. The only improvement I would suggest is to include a few key fobs with the product (as many of the competing products do). I expected the key fobs to be included, but had to scratch around finding some to order online without knowing exactly what I needed. I ordered some pre-written read-only 125hz rfid key fobs that worked like a charm. The keypad is easy to program and use. The backlit numbers on the keypad make it easy to see and use in the dark. This would have got 5 stars if the key fobs had been included.

Great Product, but...
Great product, built like a tank. I am actually amazed by the heavy duty quality for this price. But... I bought 2 units for my Chamberlain garage door openers, one 10 years old and one brand new. Both have Security+2.0 controls. The older unit worked with the keypad immediately, but the new one will not work at all. Plus, both units had the original wired wall mount controls stop working when I installed the keypads. The old one works again when I remove the keypad, but the new one appears to be permanently dead.Anyone have experience getting these to work with garage door openers without killing the original wall controls, or how to get to work with newer openers?Again, I love these keypads and want very badly to get them to work.Lastly, the instruction manual has the languages mixed up. The English is actually Italian, and the English version is listed as Italian. Other than that easy to follow.

Excellent to use for garage door entry
BLUF: Buy a low cost 12v power supply that you can plug into an outlet. Wire the power supply in to the red and black wires and connect the blue and purple wires to the garage door opener contacts. Change the switch control latch time to 1 or 2 seconds as preset to a long 5 seconds. Program your entry code and you are done.Details:The unit is built incredibly well and weather proof. I only have a week of run time so do not know how it will hold up long term to cold New England weather but seems like it will last given the unit is potted and sealed membrane keypad. You can buy a 12V 1 Amp regulated supply for about <$8. That is sufficient for current if you are only using it as a switch to connect to a garage door opener. I used an old Linksys supply that came from a no longer used router. You can buy one on Ebay with shipping for $6. If using it for an electronic door latch, you should use one with enough current to satisfy the latch and keypad both. The tiny star drive screw that is used to attach the keypad to the mounting bracket is tiny and easy to lose. Be careful when taking it apart to mount that you do not drop. You need about 3 inches of access below the bottom side of the unit. I did not have enough clearance so I had to mount mine to a thin board and mounted the board to the wall with the keypad pre=mounted. The blue and purple wires are for NO and COM. That is for the Normally open switch and Common. If you have an existing switch button in your garage, the wires from these 2 get connected in parallel. The keypad is backlit blue except the status button glows red.The manual is poorly written and laid out. If anyone at the manufacturer knew anything about marketing, they would re-write the manual, put all the english written sections in one part and clearly explain how to connect to garage door opener. There are mistakes in the manual, like stating the status light should be green when in the programming mode. It is normally red except when you execute a command, then it goes green. They should hire me as a consultant to rewrite the manual, revise the Amazon ad information and I am sure their sales would skyrocket.
