Unbelievable change to my WiFi
I have BT Infinity broadband up to 56mbps download supposedly but speed testing was returning figures of between 11 and 22mbps. My son was shouting at his PS5 because of lag and he and I trying to play Outriders together was impossible. I bought the Ubiquiti Amplifi, plugged it into my BT Hub as instructed (which confused me and may throw some of you) and the change was unbelievable. It took a while for the Access points to link up but once they had my download speeds jumped to 48mbps and 16 upload, where they have remained consistently. Outriders is lag-free and my son no longer shouts at his PS5 (unless he dies). Thank you Ubiquiti, take a bow.

Simple, stylish and effective.
Simple to set up, and it has drastically improved the WiFi coverage and speed throughout the house. Looks great, and is very straightforward to use. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a very simple and effective WiFi solution.

Strong signal and large debit
Really user friendly. The app on the phone makes the setup and administration super easy. Worth the money for the time it saves.

Poor quality control
I bought the Amplifi HD Gamer kit (router with two meshpoints) and went through the whole setup process almost as soon as it was delivered. Connected up all my various smart devices. And less than an hour later, one of the meshpoints have stopped working. Tried plugging it to other sockets, but it does not power upPretty shocking! Really poor quality control. An internet search reveals this to be a common problem. This is going to be a real pain if the whole kit has to go back for a replacement. And exactly how long do these devices last? It's quite an expensive kit, I would have expected far better quality.

Compact, easy to setup and very stable
So, as you may notice I didn't buy this here, I picked mine up via another retailer but I had to sing its praises. Some background...Whenever I change broadband provider I always use the stock hardware for the 10 day stabilisation period. And nine times out of ten after that stabilising period the speeds start to drop away or the network becomes flakey. My current provider is the first time I have had FTTP and their hardware has been appalling. I'll leave it at that. This hardware was recommended to me by someone and I thought I may as well give it a try. The hardware setup I now have is a Fiber Converter -> ISP Router -> Ubiquity Amplifi. It is worth saying that this device can act as the ISP Router where the in line is Ethernet as is the case from the Fiber Converter, I have had to keep the ISP Router to allow for the VOIP setup from the ISP. But the ISP Router become much more stable when you turn off all the WIFI and Networking services other than the once internet port out to the Amplifi.THE GOOD:Here are the praises I have for the device1) CompactFrom the picture you can see how small the base qube is.2) Easy to set-upFor most people, this will be plug and play in bridge mode or get the broadband WAN details from your provider. Once the cube is set up the extenders are just plug and play... Amazing!3) Very StablePre this hardware my network would cut out once every few hours due to the ISP Router running its CPU at 100% or running out of RAM. With this hardware managing the network I have not had a single drop in 7 days 17 hours and 34 minutes as you can see from the pictures.4) Excellent Signal all Round the HouseWith the boosters in place and with the app guiding you to the best location for them I no longer have the annoying black spots that existed with the ISP RouterTHE BAD:Here are the practical things I'd like fixed or changed1) The Set-up GuideSadly Ubiquiti have decided to go for the minimalist approach of telling you how to get to the setup instead of providing a decent setup guide. I would include a more technical setup guide for those wanting it.2) Advanced Settings Via the Web BrowserForget getting the advanced settings if you don't have a phone that can use the AmpliFi app. The settings via a web browser are enough to get the device setup but don't give you the detail found in the app.3) Different setup typesThis is basically a continuation of point 1. The setup instructions are very basic. In the main, most people could get away with just following the simple Bridge setup. But what about those who are non-technical and may need a little more help? Well there is a live support and because I am technical by background I didn't need to use it. One simple instruction book could help reduce the use of the live support. Personally I would like to see a little manual that has a breakdown of the different connection types and what you need to know about them. For example, if you are setting it up as PPPoE, let the people know they will have to contact their ISP for their WAN settings and connection details (a quick google will usually give you the WAN details). If they are connecting via DHCP, what information do you need to fill in. If you are connecting via Static IP, give advice about making sure the ISP Router assigns the correct IP and maybe suggest Hardware NAT as a good way of securing the sub net. And finally, the catch all for Bridge Mode. I would also have a best practices section... If you are using the ISP provided WiFi capable router in front of the AmpliFi then you really should disable the WiFi From the ISP Router so there is no signal issues etc.THE UGLYThe cube is amazing... I've said that before. The cables out the back and the power cord are so sleek... But the thing I haven't mentioned is the booster. They are pretty large and take up a complete socket space. It is worth noting that the non-UK version of these can pivot on the socket but I don't think that would have helped here. The picture shows the size of the booster beside a standard Toblerone. They are a little unsightly and I would rather have a passthrough socket on the bottom so I don't loose use of a socket...Hope this review helps you! :)
