This is a neat little night light gizmo that gives you a lot of bang for your buck.It doesn't look like much -- a humble little plastic commode -- but push the center button, and some VERY bright LEDs shine their light up through a motorized oscillating lens to put a shimmering light show on your ceiling.The unit has 12 LEDs in blue, red, and green, and each time you push the center button, you select a different LED deployment pattern. Holy crap I love this thing.I first ordered this as a drunk purchase, to be honest (remember kids, never drink and Prime!). When I got it, I also expected the waves to go in one direction, like keep rotating, and when I saw that it went in a circle, I was actually very worried I would get motion sick from it. Luckily, I didnt; I actually had the opposite effect. I would fall asleep SO fast with this. Normally I like my room pitch black, but for whatever reason, I fall asleep quickly with this on. It has a timer so it only stays on for an hour, and I have yet to stay awake long enough to see it shut off. My brother also stole this from me when I was out of town and loved it as well, and my friend recently bought one for her 2 year old and says she loves it too, so definitely great for all ages! :)I saw some reviews that complained their lights stopped rotating after a month. Honestly mine did at first, and I panicked, but I turned it off, tapped the light a bit, and turned it back on and it worked. And honestly, if it broke, I have no issues paying for a new one, it's not like it's super pricey.

I got this with the intent of putting it in my daughter's room, but I'm beginning to think that it may just stay in my room. It's a fairly large light and I started with it on the dresser, but ended up moving it to the floor so it could project more on the ceiling. It have three colors, but more settings because some of the setting will combine the different colors. It really is relaxing to look up at the ceiling and feel like you're drifting in the ocean. While I did not get it for it's speaker capabilities, I decided to check that out and plugged my phone into it using the provided cord. It was really cool because the lights pulsed to the beat of the music. I wanted to do a video but of course, my phone was connected to the speaker so the moment I switched to video, the music stopped. It won't stay on all night either, it turned off after about 20 minutes (at this time, I do not know if you can adjust that setting). While I love it, there is room for improvement and that is why I gave 4 as opposed to 5 stars: 1. Give me the ability to swivel the light a few degrees. This would give me the ability to leave it on the dresser and angle the projector over the bed. 2. Make the speaker bluetooth. Other than those few things, it's a nice product!

Pros- the light show is really gorgeous. I mean, we first plugged it in and all of us just stood in my toddler's room playing with the different options and ooh'ing and aah'ing. For that alone, this thing deserves 3 stars. It's seriously that awesome. We have decided to return it, and the company+amazon both deserve major stars for how easy they make that... but it's worth noting that we did almost keep it just as a novelty item for our teenager's room- and that's really much more what it's suited for.Unfortunately, for what we needed it for, the pretty light show is where the pro's end though. I bought this to use as a bedtime soother and middle of the night nightlight for my toddler, that would also play music to help drown out our noisy neighbors while she's trying to sleep. This product shuts off after 60 minutes of running, and there's no way to change that... that alone completely defeated our purpose of helping to drown out other noise or helping her get around her room if she wakes up in the middle of the night. Also, if you do wake up enough to restart it, you still have to physically PUSH a button on the device-- totally not feasible for an 18 month old that's groggy in the middle of the night in a dark room! Plus, this thing is SUPER BRIGHT. I mean, we had it on and set up about 3' off the ground, and could sit a full 12' away and read books by the amount of light it put out! Not to mention those lights about blind you if you aren't paying attention and stand right over it when you turn it on! Way, WAY too much for a little girl to really fall asleep to, and as with seemingly everything else, there's no way to change the setting for brightness.And it is worth noting, these speakers are not bose, but c'mon, you have to be reasonable with expectations out of a little bedtime soother/light show! I'd give them a 5/10 on sound quality, and for me that's totally fine for what it's for! My toddler loved the light show (and DID fall asleep to it decently, but it took longer than without it actually), we all loved the light show, the sound quality is fine. But with no way to make it stay on or turn back on easily, and no way to dim the brightness, I just can't see how this is sold this as an item for such a young child... if you want a pretty light show in another room to fall asleep to though- go for it!!!
