Look to the North: A Wolf Pup Diary

Beautifully illustrated & Well Written Story About Wolves
A story celebrating the life of a wolf pack family. Accurately provides the younger reader with details of an animal hunted almost to extinction in the United States. We don't understand how integral these animals are to our ecosystem and this book shows us how. I learned much about the relationship between the crow and the wolf. Great story line and illustrations. Reads like a chapter book for more advanced elementary school students.

My Grandson loves his Wolf book, great pics!
My 15 mo. old Grandson loves Wolves, I have been looking for a good book for him. This one looked like the one.My daughter-in-law says my Grandson loves it, it has great pics! I think he will enjoy it for years to come. He really enjoys being read to and looking at the pictures. He also likes to turn the pages.and provide the sound effects too! So glad I picked this one so we can all really learn about wolves and their pups. This is a teaching book written for kids but we can all reap the benefits.

Beautiful writing and gorgeous pictures
Beautiful writing and gorgeous pictures! This is definitely at the top of my children's non-fiction list. I love how Jean Craighead George turned her time with wolves into a book kids can enjoy and learn from. Not only is Look to the North fast paced, but it's also very informative for curious readers. The book explains the different stages of the pups growing beautifully!

A poetic view of the lifespan of wolf pups
My Great Nephews loved this book - which ties the progress of wolf pups, from birth to adulthood, to the seasons and to the plants and weather of the seasons. It is well written and beautifully illustrated. If you take your time page by page and let the kids make discoveries, it becomes an even more rewarding and a bonding experience.

Beautiful book!!
I purchased this book for my granddaughter, as she is a protector of wildlife and animals in general. I wanted her to see the true life of wolves, as parents and their interactions in their family. I did not get to see the book but saw the beautiful pictures on line, and the story, so I was very impressed. I am sure she will like it much. I recommend it for a gift to any child for Christmas that likes animals in general.

We love this book
We love this book!! It is a bit long for toddlers but they love that you can see how the wolf grows up, and what jobs they have in the family!

Lower Elementary Reading Level
This is a very cute book. It arrived quickly and in excellent, new condition. This book is written for a young, lower elementary child. I bought it for my 11 year old because she loves wolves. But it is way below her reading level. I am going to return this item. I would suggest a 2nd grade level.

Wonderful read and great illustrations!
This was my daughter's favorite book when she was a baby through probably 5th grade. I still love it. We gave our original copy away so I ordered a replacement so we would always have a copy.
