This is our 3rd copy. My wife had the book before but had loaned it out and it was never returned, so it was important enough to her to replaced it rather than tracking down the old one. I really enjoyed the Audible version. The book had come to us as highly recommend by a med school

At 38, my therapist asked "What if your mom Can't love you?". I said that's ridiculous. After some sessions of trying to gently guide me & my being clueless, she handed me this book. I exclaimed My mom never killed anyone! She said it's a spectrum. Mad, I read it. WOW, IT EXPLAINED EVERYTHING!! She is a Classic Sociopath. This book Saved me. I later learned her stories of our pets were lies. It helped me understand the inexplicable that was my life. No contact is always the way to peace. Much love to you all & the author.

A good read for all

Very helpful book in understanding the whys and wherefores regarding sociopaths. For a psychology book, it is a page-turner! I liked it so much I bought several copies for family members. More than a year later I still reference and find help and understanding in dealing with sociopathic behavior in certain individuals. Honestly, I think it a must-read for everyone. If you have any suspicions of a person or persons in your life who might be sociopathic, this will help in both determining if they indeed are, and help to understand what is and isn't possible for (and dealing with) these individuals.

not all sociopaths are wild eyed serial killers. some come across as very normal. they may even live next door.

I have studied a lot of humanities, ethics and psychology books, and have found this to have focused on the single most important aspect of a sociopath: THEY HAVE NO CONSCIENCE.Reading this allows one to spot those in their life, past, present and prevent more lunatics from coming into their lives in the future. If one is so unfortunate as to have one for a boss, that may not be easy to disconnect from, but you would know how to manage them. This should be mandatory reading in high school and college.

Some good info and easy to read. But, at the end it takes a bit of a personal turn, and "supposes" some results that are clearly not true (based on research by other authors.)
