Tremco Vulkem V116GRY 116 Polyurethane Sealant, 10.1 oz Caulk Tube, Gray

Works perfectly sealing the lower trim on our Airstream trailer.

I'm using this to replace all the caulk on my Bilco. I really like how it goes on. It's very thick so it's a little hard to squeeze it out, but from there it's really easy to go over it and smooth it out. Thinner caulks get pushed out of place too easily. I recommend finding the additional instructions from Tremco as it has detailed info on dry times, temps, etc. I wanted to plan this out according to rain forecast to avoid any issues.

Had an electrician come out and remove wires from a cement wall. Leaving a hole. He recommended this to "patch" the whole. When I first cut the tip off and put it in my caulk gun it would not work. Instead of taking the time to actually think through the problem, I fired off a message asking for a refund or exchange, because, obviously, it didn't work and had dried up during transit.I had sent the message on Sunday morning. Fathers day as it were, so I didnt excpect to hear back till Monday and put my phone aside. I then realized I needed a longer metal "stick" to get the sealant flowing. Stuck the "stick" in and it worked.Needless to say I felt a bit sheepish, but figured I wouldn't have to face my shame until at least Monday morning. Got a message from Amazon a short time later, saying they had responded to my message and suggested I take a longer "stick" and that should fix the problem. I sheepishly apoligized for sending them a message before thinking it through and said that was what I had done and it worked. They responded again saying they were glad it worked out for me.I try not to purchase items over the internet that I might have to return or need support for but their professional and quick response made me a believer in this company and highly recommend them.

Needed to fill the gap between coping concrete and top of pool tile along the pool walls. Pool company wanted an outrageous amount to fill the gap so I decided to give it a shot on my own. The 116 was easy to apply and did not run (gun grade) so it was a success. I did find a way to remove my sloppy caulking work was to use paint thinner on the dry over runs and it worked fine. I also tried a wet pumice stone and it was as successful. Use either method at your own risk. The package clearly states to make sure you have adequate ventilation. I was using it outside and I began coughing quite a bit after a few minutes so make sure you follow the precautions to the letter!

This is the stuff you use to seal leaks on Airstream trailers. Many other uses I am sure.I used to use another brand which is no longer available, and it was a medium gray in color, a perfect match for aluminum. This brand however, is a very light gray, almost off-white in color, and stands out visibly a bit more than I would like. The cost is a bit high, but that is common with vulkem in general.That said, it sticks to clean aluminum and seals leaks, and holds up for a number of years.

Used it to seal around a window. Worked great!

used to replace vulkem caulk after working on 45 year old airstream. The original vulkem was still pliable. Great stuff

First tube was unusable-it was so hard that it couldn’t be forced out of the caulk gun. Exchanged it for another. Same lot # and it was also unusable!
