CapstarFlea Tablets for Dogs and Cats, 6 Count, 2-25 lbs, Blue

I had never heard of Capstar before needing to use it a few weeks ago, but this stuff is amazing! I recently moved into a house that had an unknown infestation prior to me moving in (lovely) we immediately treated our dogs and our cat with Frontline gold and had an exterminator come out. While the Frontline worked great on our dogs, it did absolutely nothing for our cat. She was still covered in fleas over a week later. I learned about Capstar while searching for another remedy. I was hesitant to use this based on some of the reviews left about some peoples cats reactions to this medication... I spoke with my vet who told me that the majority of the time that a cat is salivating from this medication it is due to the person not shoving the pill far enough down the cat's throat, which causes some of it to get on the taste buds and gives a cat a bad reaction and while scary , is usually not life-threatening.My cat had no negative side effects to this medication whatsoever. She was also completely flea free within 3 hours! Capstar is amazing! It is only effective for 24 hours, but is a great medication and safe to use in conjunction with most other vet recommended flea preventative. We used it for 3 days in a row and put our cat on a different monthly flea preventative. We also use this on our dogs. Not one of my animals had a negative reaction. I wish this stuff worked longer than 24 hours but it's great to use while you are waiting for the topicals to do their job.I will keep a package on hand to use when I take the dogs to the dog park or Doggy Daycare to ensure that we do not bring any uninvited guests home in the future.

I want to start off by saying that I had already tested this product at my veterinarian's office. My rescued kitty had a bad infestation and needed a solution to his terrible flea problem. After taking one dose of this pill, he was almost instantly done scratching. He was so bad he couldn't even lay down for a nap without digging. It was constant and it was bad. These pills are designed to kill all adult fleas on your pet, but will not do anything for the eggs that are already on him/her. I like to look at this as the first step to ridding your flea infestation. For me, I had my kitty take one tablet of this med to kill the fleas right away. Then I bought a monthly preventative to apply to him every 4 weeks. However, I knew that I still needed to treat my home, so I bought Knockout spray. A combined effort of all of these things were what did the trick for us. We now have no more fleas in our home & my kitty is a completely different animal. Fleas continue to bite I to your pet until it becomes so bad that your pet becomes anemic. There are so many adverse health effects that can and will happen to your pet if you don't become proactive in treating and preventing. Once my cat took his first dose of Capstar, I came home and ordered his Knockout spray for the home and a box of Capstar pills to give to him once we received the spray and treated the home. I love having these tablets on hand, as it's a sure way to help your pet and acts in just a few minutes. The fleas will literally fall off right away. They bite your pet, then die. It's easy to administer and has a 24 hour lifespan. Like I said, this is an emergency treatment that should be used in conjunction with a monthly preventative and full treatment plan for the home. I promise though that buying this medicine will prove to be the best money you have ever spent! You will not be disappointed and neither will your pet!!

I HIGHLY recommend this product!!! It is by far the BEST flea product I have tried for my extremely sensitive hypoallergenic puppy who weighs 7 1/2 lbs. She is a Havanese and has had a poor reaction to ALL flea and heartworm products from the vet and Walmart. I was recommended to try this product after trying a new groomer, and bringing her to them with fleas. The groomer said she will give her dog (cat if you buy the cat version) one pill of she takes her dog to the dog park for example. She knows there's a chance of fleas from other dogs or due to the environment. The product works in 6 hrs. This is true! Itching stops by then. I'd recommend bathing by at least then, because the fleas just fall off dead!! Yep! And what's awesome is you can literally give your pet another pill next day if fleas recur. I haven't had to within a day. It takes a couple of weeks for them to come back onto my puppy. We live in humid Florida and have a lot grass. My dog is low to the ground and loves to play in it, so she's prone to get fleas and other buggies. This has been a miracle for her. I bathe her once or even twice a week, depends what she gets into and the bathing helps kill fleas since they hate soap and water drowns fleas! :) My dog hasn't gotten sick or had a bad reaction at all with capstar. None whatsoever. I have no fear in giving this to her. Unfortunately, I had given her flea collars, topicals from the vet and Walmart, and oral from the vet (flea and heartworm) and all of these causes hellacious reactions for my dog. So much that when I got the next oral dosage of flea med from the vet, I refused. I've also refused to give her vet heartworm meds. I've had quite a few pets in the past and none have had the level of sensitivity hasn't new puppy to fleas or medicine, so her life is more important than trying a ton of meds because it's what is supposed to work. Capstar works and I bought this on my own with my own money. I don't belong to a company that pays to review things. Get this if your dog gets sick taking these toxic medicines:/ love your animals :)
