49720 Sink and Drain Cleaner, 10 Foot

Oh my, what an amazing purchase!!! Please get this everyone! You will save soo much money, I used it for a tub, it would always drain slow and after a very quick 4 minute shower it was like i was standing in a puddle gross... what i did was unscrew the tub trip lever which is the usually round thing with a switch right above the drain whole, cleaned the screw coil thing attatched to the lever, which was hair (eww) then used this device, put it in and gave it a twirl, works better with 2 people one to direct the snake and one to twist, it pulled out mucky hair (barf) I then screwed the lever back on and cleaned the tub and took a shower, whole new tub haha Worked perfectly!!! A+++ :):):)

This item worked well for my situation. I had a hair clog in my tub drain, and I couldn't get a regular snake to hit the clog. I was almost at the point of calling a plumber, and I usually do these things myself. The IIT snake is only 1/8-inch in diameter, so I was able to fish it through the overflow (safety) drain and pull out the hair clog through the overflow drain. You have to fully extend the snake to rotate it, which makes things a little difficult, but with a bit of finesse this will work for most minor clogs in the house. Don't expect it to clear your main-line sewer stoppage.

Purchased to unclog the gray tank on my RV. Due to the distance from the drain to the tank, with 3 bends in the pipes, I needed something that would be long enough and flexible enough to fish up the pipe. Luckily this product worked for me but only barely. I think it's really designed for sinks and shower drains. If my tank had a real clog I doubt this would have worked. But since my clog was caused by tank cleaner that sat in the tank too long and allowed sediment to settle on the bottom of the tank and harden, this product had just enough "stiffness" to bust thru the sediment and open the drain.

Didn't work for me. not entirely clear on how to use it either. used for kitchen sink and pushed down drain until resistance then twisted in a circular motion and advanced it more, kept doing that until it seemed to go no more. then cranked handle (with still maybe .5m of cable outside drain) and tried multiple times to advance and/or turn the handle. at a certain point it would be all twisted up and you'd have to untwist and try again.end came out clean so i think maybe i didn't hit the clog (but could not advance the cable either) but with no directions it is impossible to know.

I don't know if it's something I did wrong or if it's the product itself. I purchased it because of the other reviews.I tried it in five (5) different drains and it never made it past the first bend in the drain. I had two (2) others try it as well and nope, didn't work for them either. We all tried every trick we could think of to get it to work but nope, it was a no go on every try for everyone that did try.I wish I could give this a better rating but...I will say that the company shipped very quickly and it was nicely packaged.

I haven't used this on any drain except a pesky bathroom sink and it worked just fine. It was a little hard to get it threaded through. I don't know if this is because the drain stopper won't come off and/or the p trap is really curved. The drain, however is now draining very well. I was so tired of buying chemical drain cleaners that didn't work, now I don't think I will ever do that again. Besides, this snake was cheaper that a bottle of the draino!

I had a deeper clog in shower than usual, so the 10 ft really helped. As mentioned by others it does take some effort to get through bends in pipe. After working with it for 15 minutes I was able to reach and clear the clog. I tried turning the handle to clear the clog but the twisting created several kinks in the wire. The wire bent so much it was no longer strong enough to go very far down the pipe again. It did fix the clog but I had to throw it away. Based on the cheap price it's still worth it.

These work great for long and may take two people in a bathroom one held in the end closest to like the tub drain. And the other person twisting it but I did remove a lot of crud from my tub drain. Be forewarned that you only need about a foot for the tub drain that's as far as it will go. But I also went all the way through the bathroom sink and the kitchen just to be sure it just seemed to have no problem of entering unlike the tub
