An excellent external battery pack !
Let me start off with the basics. Once all 12 batteries are installed the battery pack is producing a steady 16 volts which is good. Yes this battery pack weighs more than the traditional packs that take 8 AA batteries. I am not concerned with weight. I routinely have a Canon 1DS Mark II with a Metz 76 MZ-5 handle mount flash on a Custom Brackets QRS-E2 bracket so that set up alone is a good six pounds. The events I cover are usually six to eight hours. I do not worry about having to swap out batteries when I have this pack connected to my 580 EX II. Build quality is excellent and I intend to buy an additional battery tray in case I have a weekend gig.

Recycle time was SO quick!
This was exactly what I needed! I've only used it for one event so far but I am so impressed at how quickly my flash was charged up each time! No more missing moments!

Overall a great product for the price.
It makes a great battery pack. The only thing I would encourage is probably making the cable detachable so it’s easier to store the battery pack.

Has a shorter operating life than my 8-battery pack from Canon
I have used this pack on two different shoots now and on both (each well under two hours and without rapid-fire shooting), the recycling time for my flash has slowed down to an unacceptable rate, one in which I have people standing WAITING for me to take the usual "second shot." So far, it has been a waste of money. It seems to overheat or something to that effect very easily. I guess I'll have to go back and buy the Canon again. Even at five-plus years old, it was far more reliable for the duration of a shoot.

If you feel flash slowly, it could be lower battery power.
It’s okay. But it didn’t show when batterys were low power. If it has a remind light, it’s good for photographers.
