Great pump so far and a couple of suggestions for package wiring add-ons for the seller
Installation was relatively easy since my original pump was a Pentair LA01n and already wired for 220V. A couple of notes about wiring. It would have been a nice touch to have a wiring kit in the box that included a couple of 90 degree quick disconnect female terminals to crimp on to the pump wires. Second, the bonding lug does not open so if your equipment is already bonded, you have to cut the bonding wire and splice it (see photo) to get it through the pump bonding lug. I love the quick disconnect PVC connectors but if you have rigid PVC, you may need adapters if the previous installers used rigid PVC and glued the pump's inlet and outlet pipes to your old pump. I have a rigid 1 1/2" return that was glued so I needed to reduce the pipe diameter to accommodate the quick disconnects. Fortunately, the volute for the Pentair pump was not glued so I could unscrew it and needed no modification of the existing rigid pipe since the new Polaris volute was the same size.

Saved me hundreds!
Saved me hundreds of dollars! First , the seller was amazing, the pump went on sale two days later. They adjusted my price and credited me back the difference. I am confident to say my pool company would have charged me $1,000 to replace, I did it with this pump for $400. Hope it last more than the three years the last one did. The pump is the exact same one I had which made the wiring very easy. Very quiet it works when it is supposed to.

take pictures of the old set up before you disassemble it.
It's a pretty easy DIY project if you are careful. watch a few UTube videos and it pretty easy from there. The pump come with new hose and connecters which is helpful.

2nd pump in 2 years, both out of warranty...Very poor customer service.
This is the Second Polaris pump I've had to replace in 2-years; both of which have failed. The first pump was 2-years old and out of warranty... Purchased a new pump in September 2012 after the season, not realizing 12-month warranty from date of purchase (my mistake there). The pump was installed in May 2013, only ran it a few times during the season and was uninstalled in September 2013 where it was stored for the winter. In April 2014, when we opened the pool, found the pump to run only 5-min, get hot, and shuts off.Tried contacting the merchant for assistance, but they cited the 1-year warranty from date of purchase, and couldn't offer assistance. Unfortunately, I guess that's what you can expect from just an Internet reseller.Tried Polaris/Zodiac, they cited 1-year warranty also; this was the most frustrating part. Explained that this was the 2nd pump in 2-years, and that I'm not really happy with the quality of these products. They refused to allow me to speak with a supervisor. Instead, the agent spoke with the supervisor on my behalf. The agent told me the supervisor was the ONLY person in the company I could speak with. The agent was reluctant to provide the supervisors first name, and would not provide their last name or the supervisors last name or any other contact in the company to speak with. I asked if there was a customer service number / department. Tech informed me that "Tech support" and "customer service" were one-and-the-same, and that he's done "All he could do". Asked tech, "Given my history over the last 2-years with the Polaris pumps, why would I purchase another Polaris Replacement?" His response was "I don't expect you would."The pumps and Polaris units are not cheap ($200 for the pump, $600 for the sweeper)... I replaced BOTH at the end of the season in 2012. I don't expect a lifetime warranty on these products, but I do expect that these items should last more then one season. At that price, it would be more cost effective to have the pool serviced weekly through the 20-week pool season. If this is the quality of product and customer service you can expect from Polaris, I would look for other options. At a minimum, I would expect the manufacturer to stand behind the product, and offer either a repair, replacement, or a discount on a replacement product. If you do chose to use the Polaris products, find a reputable local pool supplier that provides better service, and actually cares about their customers. This way, when the product does fail, they may be able to work with you. Kicking myself for not working with my local pool guy and trying to save a few bucks by ordering it online myself...

Booster pump installation
Booster pump arrived in perfect condition and contained all of the necessary parts for installation. This pump is an easy DIY project. It is a direct replacement for the original pump. Wiring and water connect to pump exactly like the existinglines. Very quiet pump. Highly recommend.
