Wow!
These are lovely paints! I love the large pans. The colors are smooth and creamy. Very pigmented. You can add water to make them lighter and more transparent. The lid of the box allows for swatches of the colors. Good assortment and seem easy to mix so far.

Best paints
This is my favorite watercolor set I've yet to find. The box it comes in is nice and sturdy, and even though it's in Japanese, it has a nice little section inside the lid where you can do paint samples to see what all the colors look like dried. All the paint comes in nice little plastic rectangles, which are removable. This is nice for the most part, since you can replace them once they're used up (I haven't found single replacements, to my frustration, I just bought a small basic set and swapped the white/etc into this one). My boyfriend knocked this off the counter and it shattered the edges of a few paints, but I was able to put those pieces back in and they reabsorbed as I used those colors. The paints were easy to get back into place since they have the backs of the plastic containers labeled.I really love how creamy and opaque these can go. They're really vibrant and smooth to work with. I love them!

Fantastic
I’ve had these for about two weeks, and finally broke them out today to give them a trial run. They are absolutely fabulous. I believe they are going to be my favorite set of watercolors. My only regret is that I did not buy the set of 48. I will remedy that pretty soon. Like that they’re a little bit creamy and they have a different texture . They go down really well and the colors are vibrant. I highly recommend that you give these a try.

I love these paints
I love these paints. wonderful big pans.these paints are not meant to be mixed much. They are not like gouache, some have compared, tough some are opaque. The pans don't have much paint in them. I thought maybe its because the paint is very concentrated.I was surprise to reach the bottom of the pan rather quickly.I love the feel of this paint. great colors, and it's been fun learning how not to mix your own colors, and experimenting with using white.I would love to try the metallic paints.Iv ordered the little six pan set, for travel journal, and outdoor painting, so I will include my opinion on that set later.Im not bothered by the cardboard box. Its lovely and sturdy, with a coating where the pans lay. Im not worried about the box getting soggy. Its a great set for studio use, and a good value compared to other solid Japanese watercolor brands.Id like to be able to get individual colors, because some I use a lot of, and some would last me a long time.It would be wonderful to find refills full to the top of this paint.I gave it four out of five stars because I think the pans should be at least half to three quarters full. I might change that, if I knew there was a good reason for not filling the pans more.I like the big size of the pans. Some pans had a white sort of salt deposit on the top. this is not a problem, and seems to be a natural occurrence with that color.some pans were cracked. you can repair that by adding a few drops of water and the paint will heal as it drys.

Love these watercolors
I have already purchased 3 sets of kurataki watercolors. I love them so much, I can't stop using them! Almost like gauche paints, very pigmented and beautiful colors

opaque watercolors
Love these Japanese opaque watercolors. A bit pricey but worth it.

Love, Vibrant
Love these paints and the oversized pans accommodate big brushes for lush, full brushstrokes. My only wish is that they would make them lightfast. Great for illustrators, cards, and craft projects not requiring archival quality. Extremely vibrant pigments.
