Results I didn't expect!
This stuff is a money saver! My well water has sulfur and is hard. The water softener is 16 years old. Over the past few years, I have noticed rust stains on some surfaces. I had the water tested and it now contains iron also. Both companies that tested the water, wanted to sell me an iron remover unit to the tune of $1700! I stumbled upon this product while searching Google. I ordered a bottle. What did I have to lose? I ran my 16 year old water softener through 2 cycles back to back two consecutive days. I cleaned all the rust stains in the toilet, sinks, shower and washing machine. It's been months since I've started using this and no rust stains! I am sold and will continue using this forever. Thank you Pro Products for this incredible product.

Simple to Install and Maintain
Bought this on the recommendation of my water softener installer as the better alternative to using the other iron-out solutions which actually only work properly if dissolved and poured into the brine tube at the time of regeneration and as the kids say, "ain't nobody got time for that".Drill the few holes (I drilled holes in salt tank much smaller than the 1/4" size specified in the instructions), install the bracket (works like a peg-board hook), attach the wick tube, and you're done. System delivers the solution automatically via the drip tube into the brine tube so that it's available when the system regenerates in the middle of the night. You can buy refill solution in gallon bottles and keep it next to the brine tank. Whenever you check your salt level, you can peak at the supply bottle and, when needed, refill it from the gallon jug.The drip rate for the kit I purchased is one ounce per day so it should go 2 months before the feed bottle is empty.

Easy peasy
Easy intall. Seamless operation so far. Water seems consistently smoother, softer. Will do a follow up later but so far so good.

Great Product
This is the best. Since using this, My water is so much softer and the automatic drip system is awesome. I recommend this product to every one that owns a water softner. I just wished I would have bought the 1/2 ounce drip system. I don't get why customers are having problems with this. Its such an easy system to install and it really works on older water softners, you might not notice any change in a brand new system as your resin bed is already clean. Thanks for a great product!!!!

It works! Just followed directions.
So far so good. It works. I will update in about a month. My water softener had stopped softening about 9 months ago. The estimates to repair were around a grand. I didn't have that kind of money just sitting around, so I put it off. Stumbled onto this, $20, why not try... It worked on the 1st regeneration cycle. Like day and night. I had soft water again! The water was a little salty, but that cleared up after a minute or two. The taste was also much improved. The instructions said to dump in 4oz the 1st time and 1oz each regen there after. Decided to give it another regen tonight. Plan to update in a month.

Great customer service
Like several others in the review, the lid came broken. I'm sure it would have been ok, I can't see any hazards. I wrote the company just to let them know - seems like they have a lot of the same problem. They went above and beyond and sent a whole new order. Totally not necessary, but they wanted -- and made -- a lifelong customer. Certainly happy with this. And it's doing wonders for our salt softener system.

seems to be a good idea, gallon would have been the better choice ...
the hanger kit seems to be a good idea but really not worth it.. the kit gives a 64 oz ,,that is half of a gallon that sells for 12.00 would have been the better choice to buy the gallon first to manually feed a few oz. a day until certain this product works.. but the easy feed may work so i hooked it up as instructed, after initially dumping 4 oz/half cup in brine tank .. too early to review how well this chemical works but suspect i needed it for my old unit with original resin. I have checked the resin tank and it looked clean no smell etc. so the resin should be good,, hope this helps,, bought test strips and will check soon compare a couple day tests.. even tough our town municipality built a well filtration system, we still test 15 to 18 heavy hard water and chlorinated too .. i will test strip again after a couple days (still high hard water level)

This left a terrible odor in my water
First I didn't have any problem installing the drip feeder and getting it to work. The problem was after I did the initial treatment (4 ounces in the brine well) it left an awful taste and smell in my water. I backwashed the softener several times and it did very little to alleviate the problem. I bypassed the softener so we would at least have useable water. I was considering just junking the softener, but decided to try one last thing first. I purchased a bottle of Whirlpool softener cleaner and ran it through the unit. I could see some improvement after this. I ended up buying 2 more bottle of the cleaner(total of $35.00) and using it. Now my softener is finally functioning normally. Amazon was great on the return when I went to the return page it said this was a non-returnable item (chemical). I went to the chat page and explained my problem and they immediately issued me a refund and told me not to return the product. In looking at the other reviews this product has worked for a lot of people . but not in my case. I live in Fla. and have Iron in my water maybe that is why. Also when you read the label it has phosphoric acid in it. Not something I want in my family's water.
